The park is 3/4 teeming with life with an assortment of habitat such as geese, ducks and squirrels clustered around the creek. Add the pleasant people walking their dogs into the mix.
The other 1/4 is reminiscent of what you would see on The Walking Dead—abandoned tennis, basketball and handball courts from a bygone era. Add the concession stands by the baseball diamonds that appear to be disused and from a time when people got out on the weekends and away from their electronic devices.
This park needs some TLC and it seems the City of Reno let it fall apart despite an onsite maintenance garage.

The only thing that has ever been replaced there in the last couple decades is the Play Gym area, and the only reason it was replaced was because the one before it (which was also brand new) was set on fire, huge “Tire Fire” kinda fire. How do you even do that? Drench the whole thing in kerosene? Anyways, long story short, that’s it. Now it’s starting to become a haven for junkies, and not the legal kind like in New York. They wander back and forth from there to 7/11 & Dottie’s all day long and the only time anything is done is when 7/11 is forced to call the 50. FIX THIS PARK! Never too crowded so you can actually enjoy it and relax. I bring my very shy fur baby a couple times a week. One of the few places I can take him where I don't have to worry about other dog owners that don't pay attention to their own & have no regard for others.
