Presentation of the food is great !!!!! Customer host is poor as you come in the Woman will look at you and point out with her finger where she thinks you should seat without guiding you herself. I find that somewhat unprofessional along with her appearance like she has no taste to dress to impress representing the business but then again none of the employees there have uniforms or nice attire to wear. Very sloppy in their appearance!!! As soon as you come in you think or feel like you're walking into a night club because of their tasteless and loud music. I did not complaint about it when I went there because I knew I wasn't going to come back again. Host made us think we would get a booth for 2 of us but then she changed her mind and moved other people there and had us seat in a table with chairs, even though we were expecting to seat in a booth. She also asked me to let her borrow a chair next to me which I had my purse and sweater on it. She still took it without telling me for what purpose but that was rude and low I felt. Wait time to get coffee and water in our table was very slow as we had to beg one of the young guy to bring it over to us. Waiter took her sweet time to come by taking our order. Food-wise..........my opinion is that you don't think for one minute that their menu has unique homemade food because it just doesn't!!! Ordinary food with not many options to choose from, everything is pretty much the same but they like to name dishes with different names only because one condiment that changes. Oh btw don't order tamales here, this was a big no no in our opinion. Chilaquiles flavor really donât standout in taste very ordinary and my family cooks better Chilaquiles than here but oh well , Not impressed at all !! Coffee is yummy can't complain about that !!! Needs serious attention to the time in which they bring your order to your table. I know they seemed understaffed but still they need big time...
Read moreWent to Los Chilaquiles in Reno yesterday, and it was a disaster from start to finish. Our waitress was incredibly rudeâshe complained when we asked for a seat that wasnât so bright, then proceeded to ignore us most of the time. She kept forgetting our drinks but somehow managed to add extra drinks to our bill plus charge for limes who does that? On top of that, they automatically charged an 18% gratuity for our group of seven, but the service was so bad that she definitely didnât deserve it.
Every time we asked for something, they acted annoyed and in a rush, even walking away mid-request. I had to wave someone down just to get attention. The food? Terrible. Our eggs were completely undercooked, with jiggly whites oozing out of what was supposed to be a cooked omelet. The birria broth was nothing but oil, and the complimentary molletes? Forgotten at first, then served cold with no salsa until we had to ask for it. The quesabirrias are done with black corn maza not put on the menu my kids where not amused.
When we pointed out the raw eggs, the waitress laughed at us and said, "People eat raw eggs all the time." Excuse me?! Thatâs a health hazard, not an excuse.
The worst part? The bill was $300 (with that undeserved gratuity included). For bad service, forgotten drinks, raw food, and attitude. Definitely never...
Read moreThe presentation of the food is wonderful, from the traditional plates and cups. Always been a fan of that, Iâve had this place maybe 4-5 times and itâs usually the same over priced yet pretty plated meh ish food, - just the service gets worse each visit.
Iâm mexican and I canât even wrap myself on how they charge almost 30 dls for a plate of wet tortillas & the minimal of sides. You want potatoes? Thatâs extra- youâll get asked how youâd like eggs- yes thatâs also extra at a 4- 5dls up charge per thing.
One day I made the mistake of asking for more of the sauce (because the chilaquiles were pretty much tortilla chips and barely had any sauce ) what do I see on the bill- the up charge. What am I supposed to do eat them dry chips being masked to be called chilaquiles!?
As far as the service Iâm used to there being a lot to be desired, so nothing new there. Servers acting like they donât want to be there and itâs a bother to be serving the tables, howâs the food? Any refills? you wont hear that as there is rarely any attentiveness.
2 people expect your bill to be $75.00 to $80.00 Iâll say If you want authentic flavorful Mexican meals and donât mind to miss out on the pretty plates - just go to Carlillos cocina, bet youâll probably have better...
