I just got the ugliest haircut I have ever seen on anyone and a very unprofessional attitude from the hairdresser. I went in and asked for him to cut the very back of my hair, just to clean that up while I grow out my hair. He said that he would suggest I let him "lighten up" the rest a bit, too just so it wasn't so heavy, bc he thought it looked like a bowl cut now and "you cant do a bob until it is longer." I said, Eh, I dont want it stacked or layered, I just want it cleaned up so it looks better while I'm growing it out. He asked what my goal was and I told him eventually it'll be long all over and textured. He said he wanted to soften the edge of my heaviest layer to get rid of that "bowl cut" look. I said yeah, he can soften that edge a bit but not too much. So he started. He snipped at the back some, and it seemed awfully close to my head but I thought i was just being nervous. Then he picked up my bangs and I thought he'd cut 1/4-1/2" to even out the ends. Wham. Cut them in half. Eyebrow length. I'd grown them out for four months to the point where I could tuck them behind my ears, and he ruined that in two seconds, after I told him I just want the very back cleaned up so I could grow my hair out. When I saw this, I knew it was all wrong. But the damage was done to all the length I'd achieved, so I let him continue, hoping his vision would be better than I feared. It was not. The craziest thing of all is that he didn't cut the back. He called it done after taking the scissors to my whole head, and it was hideous. I just stared and pulled at my bangs astonished that they were gone and I said, " All my length is gone." The man said "I didnt cut your length, it was right here when you walked in and it still goes to right here. I just lightened it like you said." And as he said that he jabbed at my ear with his hand, hard. (He jabbed at the very longest thin layer left on my head, which was cut crooked. The rest is super layered above that, all uneven and short, which I did not ask for at all. His coworker had heard me when I came in and explained what I wanted, and then saw what he did to me, and apologized profusely. She offered me the cut for free, and a coupon for another, but there is no way in the world I will let them touch my head again. I will have to go to the salon first appointment I can find and get someone to fix this butcher job. I will also have to start all over growing out my hair. It will take four to six months to get back to where it was an hour before he butchered it. My before and after pics today speak volumes about this service. Worst haircut ever, the man was not sorry, and jabbed my head angrily. I will never go...
Read moreI have been to Great Clips in several locations across the US and I have always been satisfied with the cut, however, a few days ago I visited the Richmond Heights location and did not have a god experience. I showed the stylist a photo of what I wanted (and they also had records of my previous cut in computer). Not only did the stylist cut my hair significantly shorter than requested she also did not cut it the way I requested--two entirely different style of cuts. When I asked why she didn't cut it las I asked, her response was, in essence, "because it wouldn't have looked good that way". I was shocked that she decided (on her own accord and without asking me) to give me a different cut than what I specifically asked for. I tried to be Ok with the cut, but every time I catch a glimpse of myself I get upset again AND worse the haircut just doesn't lay properly. So not only did I not get what I asked for, the cut is also poorly executed. My husband NEVER notices when I get a cut. But he noticed this time (and not ina good way)..he was like, "what happened to your hair?" I will never go back to that location even though they gave me a certificate for a free cut! When the assistant manager gave me the certificate she offered to recut it. But it was/is too late--the stylist had already cut so much of my hair that it was/is impossible to adjust it and it will takes many months for it to grow enough for it to be fixed. I have never cried about a hair cut in my life--I'm usually pretty chill. I cried about this one. Obviously, I don't recommend...
Read moreGreat. I haven't allowed anyone for over 3 years to touch my hair because of the last 3 people I've allowed to do it decided to cut it off. Since I was in middle school my mom would drop me off at a beauty shop and since I was a kid the person doing my hair knew better than me and would cut my hair (my hair is really thick and long). This cutting went until my senior year of high school and after researching, the people cutting my hair every other week was unnecessary. I recently wanted a trim just so my hair could look more neat but not take away from the noticeable length down my back (more than halfway down). From past experience I was extremely bothered to do so. A friend recommended great clips in Clayton because she faced the same experience. I went ahead and did it. I had the pleasure of meeting Demetria who was super nice and understanding of my situation. She asked how much I want cut (1/2 inch) and showed me on my hair how much it would be then what she recommended (1 1/2). I went with her and she didn't fail me. She gained my trust especially since she told me about a situation she had that was similar to mine. I recommend Demetria to anyone who wants someone who's willing to listen to your requests even if she doesn't recommend or agree with it. Also I was a walk in but i only had a 1 minute wait and a trim of about 5 minutes. I will continue to do my own hair but she will be giving me a trim...
