The Glass Spot — Attraction in Richmond

Went with a group of friends on Saturday with no idea of what to expect. It was incredible. Chris and his staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. They explain everything so well and guide you through the magical experience of creating a piece of blown glass art. Questions are encouraged and answered with easy to understand responses. You learn so much: what glass is made of, how it behaves in its various states, how much energy it takes to keep the furnaces and ovens going and on and on. It’s a fantastic experience for anybody wanting to learn a new thing, experience something cool, and have a piece of art at the end to keep. The entire experience is so well worth it. What a wonderful place to make Christmas memories that last. Not only do you get to participate in making the Christmas ornaments (one memory and experience) but you get to take it home after annealing and look at it year after year when you decorate your tree (many many memories) Chris is a true craftsman and his love for glass shows in the caring he takes with every participant. He staff is always friendly and helpful. We have done this for 6 years now. We look forward to this unique experience every Christmas holiday. Took my daughter for a birthday surprise! We had an amazing time! There were two gentlemen leading the classes and they kept it running very smoothly. Provided an initial start to finish demonstration and then it was hands on. The guys were super friendly and very respectful.

There were sixteen glass colors to choose from and you can pick up to two colors. We made glasses and there were three basic designs that could be customized to what we liked. Pint glass, whiskey or wine glass.
