I really really liked this what they pit off for the vibe and the uniqueness of things they sell. I always go thrifting, no matter what state I am in. In this case, I am looking to help my daughter find odds and ends for her new place. The reason this is a 3 is because the staff couldn't seem to be bothered. I can honestly say, the Goodwill in Mechanicsville has a much nicer and more helpful staff to ALL ppl who shop there. They even pulled something from the back (that was already priced). So the hype about Divisity at this thrift store was just that. Out of all the states I have been in that have divinity inclusion, this did not meet what I expected. The signs are there saying it, but their actions did not show it. It was very eclectic. That being said, it really had a little something for everyone. Again, it's a 3 is because I tried to ask a question at the register, and the lady behind the counter was more interested in talking about conspiracy theories with a lady she was talking to. I waited about 10 min and finally just left the store. The other person behind the counter was ringing up a steady flow of customers. I dont need anything thaf badly and i definitely didn't appreciate someone looking at me and ignoring me. As for the things they sell. There are some really nice pieces. Also, I loved that it was like a surprise in every room. Treasure upon treasure. They have most things clearly marked for prices. And there are signs with prices for clothing. All in all, i would go back, but it be a thrift store i go out of my way to go to or donate to. The last video was me making a good time out of driving 30 min out of my way....
Read moreI used to work here so take my review with a grain of salt. I just wanted to share some tips if you're thinking about stopping by. The store open 9-6 and we accept donations 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm (or later ... don't worry if you are running late, but we do close at 6) We carry furniture, household goods, clothing (men's, women's and kid's), fabric, electronics, bicycles, sports equipment, pots & pans, yard equipment, tools ... pretty much anything!
We get a TON of donations from the community ... without your support we would not exist. We price and put out new items daily. We stay busy though, so we do tend to get picked over. If you come one day and don't find anything, come back a week later and we will have totally new items out. Everything is sold as is - dust bunnies included! Electronic items can be returned within 7 days with a receipt.
We also will pick up donations of furniture for free! We have a few restrictions on what we can take (no rips or stains, no missing parts, nothing broken, etc.) and we don't take some items (mattresses, exercise equipment, large entertainment centers, particle board or presswood) We pick up items seven days a week from 9am to 4pm and provide a tax receipt for every donation. Call the store if you would like to...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed not only by the lack of help and cold attitudes of the employees but the fact that I was discriminated against because I was using a voucher provided by my case manager. I DID NOT GET THE DISCOUNT EVERYBODY ELSE GOT TODAY. Which was all green tag items were a quarter each. Oh no I was charged full price. Considering I'm homeless and in desperate need of clothes I find this to be absolutely heartbreaking to be treated differently than the other customers. The lady who rung me up was not only loud about my situation but had the most uncaring attitude I've ever had somebody express to me. All I could get was 5 pairs of jeans and 2 pairs of shoes. If they have a sale it should apply to all customers, not just the ones paying with cash. They let the other lady that had a voucher get all her items for the quarter price. Discrimination...
