Tucked away in downtown Ridgefield, and a good exploration through the park. Very steep, very minimal windows and tunnel shots. Highly recommend a spotter. It's been mentioned that tee 1 is behind the play structure. Technically that is correct, but it is the northern play structure. Look for the warm up basket just next to the parking lot, it is up from there. Because of the elevation changes and shorter basket lengths, I opted to go with a shoulder bag instead of backpack. This was a great idea. It gets tiring and it's not a 2x through type of course. The fairways need to be beaten down some, and the OB is tight. Plan to lose a disc; I did for the first time in months. Map placards at the tee boxes would be a nice touch, but there is a sign pointing to each tee. Getting lost on the way to the next box, is harder than finding your discs in the nettles, thorns, thistles, and dense fern growth. Definitely an intermediate level course for the types of shots required and massive shrubbery, but beginners will be tempted by the shorter basket lengths. Don't be. Glenwood, Paradise, and Yacolt are much better short range courses for newer players in the area. Play this for a challenge, and in a group to minimize lost plastic. Bring water, as you'll be hiking a ton of elevation. Don't bring anything faster than a control driver, and expect to practice shape and...
Read morewe have lived in ridgefield for 12 years. the best feature of this town was the access to Abrams Park. it is a five minute walk from our home to the park. we used to walk there almost everyday. we were always pleased by the ever changing flora and fauna that we saw on the various trails in the forest. a peaceful retreat for any resident or visitor. unfortunately, the city decided that the forest as it is is not enough and has felled many trees, poured concrete and erected a disc golf course. what a poor location! congratulations to the city for turning a pristine forest into a typical city park. to say we are saddened by this would be an understatement. we no longer walk in Abrams Park. a rating of zero stars for Abrams Park trail system would be...
Read moreThe creek was nice, and the smaller blue playground next to it was nice as well. The restroom was fairly clean. The other brown playground on the back side of the restrooms near the trees and baseball fields was not great. There is a slide there that is VERY high up (probably 10 feet high or more) and has two turns with no extra protection from falling such as a tunnel overhead or extra high sides, my son almost flew off the side of one of the turns, it scared me to death and I will not let him on that playground again. I added a picture...
