Ridgefield Community Library — Attraction in Ridgefield

As a concerned parent, my recent visit to Ridgefield Library left me disheartened. While I have always appreciated this library's inclusive environment, the decision to prominently display an exclusive Pride flag is disappointing. Libraries should strive to be neutral spaces that welcome everyone, promoting a diverse range of ideas and perspectives.

While I support celebrating diversity, using a public institution to endorse specific political viewpoints feels divisive. As a result, I regretfully cannot bring my kids to Ridgefield Library until this matter is addressed. A small library that is staffed with incredibly nice people and is spotlessly clean! Needed to use a computer and was even able to extend my time twice! One of the librarians came to me close to closing and said I must be new because she hadn't seen me before. She just wanted to let me know that the computers shut down a few minutes before closing so if I needed to save my work, I could! Wasn't that kind? For a small library, it was well used.
