Parking begins about 10 minutes below at a park that has restrooms and plenty of space to handle business and secure your car before you head up. Bring water and some calories with you as you’ll need them along with comfy shoes that have, and I repeat, that have TRACTION. The trail is easy, but not quite beginner level. It has several layers of wrap around elevation and areas that are gorgeous, but if you don’t pay attention to your footing, chances of severe injury or death are very present. Any kids, please hold onto them or have them walk away from cliffs and or unstable rocks. As you traverse upward you will notice huge boulders that are heavier than cars, so nature being nature always pay attention as the day you go might just be the day one of them falls. You have two paths going up from the bottom, the right is significantly easier and the left that has asphalt is elevated with quite the mini fun journey. You’ll come across couples, runners, dog walkers, solos, family, and the occasional creepo lol. Safe is what you feel it to be, and if the mountain is empty and you’re alone, always have a plan or attempt to bring someone as up there alone anything can happen. Several areas for photo opportunities whether that be for personal or commercial use. Distinguished features include an enormous cross, boulder and American flag 🇺🇸 Highly recommended and a great time guaranteed.
