1: The shop / dive facility. This place is awesome. The coolest pool I have seen so far. 3 feet on one end, 4 on the other and the middle is a 14 foot large section drop. Hot showers, lockers, extremely clean facility and bathrooms. Staff has always been smiling and super friendly and helpful. Prices? they are actually similar if not cheaper then some other stores with the same product. Purchased a Shearwater Peregrine for $450. Dive Utah has it for $495. This place carries good named brand items and quality gear cost a bit more. So yes, options might look $$ compared some other stores. But when it comes to my comfort and safety under water, you don't want to mess around. Buy good equipment. Prices for classes are also on par with most dive centers. They also got me prescription lenses for my mask in less then a week!

2: Instructor. My instructor was Ivan Hartle with the assistance of Hanna. Let me tell you, Ivan is an amazing instructor. Very knowledgeable and great patience. I did not feel lost in any of the drills. He explained things multiple times with multiple examples above and under water. He will work with you even if he has to stay past the class. Took good care of us in the open dives at the Crater. Brought us extra water and made sure we where all dialed in and ready. I will definitely look forward to any other classes he teaches! Just finished up my open water certification at The Scuba Dive in Riverton! I needed to get my cert out of the way quickly so I opted for private classes. I was able to nail down all the skills within a week, and receive my certification. My instructor was Ivan Hartle, and man was he awesome! Seriously request this guy if you want to get certified. Super great person to work with, explained everything so clearly, and just made the experience smooth and also really fun! He really focused in on the student and what they needed to progress and succeed and thus the entire thing was a breeze. On top of having the greatest instructor, the remainder of the crew that runs the place are all top notch. I first met the owners a year ago when I needed a wetsuit and some snorkel gear, and they were the coolest people and super nice. So I always said if/when I get certified, this is the place I will go! You really can’t find greater people around! And as one other added bonus, the facility itself is awesome. It’s all taken care of and kept clean, it’s professionally designed/built, and the pool water is crystal clear and properly maintained! Fabulous experience from start to finish. I have previously certified at another local shop that has been around a long time, but went with The Scuba Dive to do it again and refresh because of their amazing reviews, their helpfulness by email and phone, and their ability to make a class in time for us to dive on an upcoming trip. Every employee I interacted with was cheerful, helpful, and welcoming. Of course our dive instructor Ivan was the best of them all. Extremely educated, great at communicating, and fun, Ivan made the class a safe and engaging experience. There was a 13 year old in our class and Ivan was phenomenal with him and an old lady like me. Ivan shared info on the dive gear that we would need but was never salesy or pushy. I haven't seen someone so passionate about their job in a long time. It was a great experience. I was very nervous for me and my 18 year old daughter and thought of quitting several times, but Ivan made us feel so comfortable and confident we kept coming back and certified! Now I am able to make incredible memories with my daughter thanks to Ivan and The Scuba Dive. I plan on sending my other kiddos there later this year and would highly recommend this facility...
