Had a horrible experience today and was treated like theif(finding out as i was leaving it was the assistant manager Jason, couldn't catch last name) even tho I had a receipt and was within my 30 day return policy. Originally I ordered a ps3 on Game Stops Online website for their Black Friday deal. Upon receiving the ps3 it wouldn't read any game, CD, or movie so I returned it to the Covington Virginia Game Stop with ease and was treated with respect and apologizes. Manager name was Charles.. After getting the second ps3 it would play some games and others it wouldn't and the controller gave out. So today i go to the Tanglewood mall Game Stop and they were very nice and helpful and exchanged the four games that came with the bundle but didn't have a 320gb ps3 in stock so the gentleman call the Valley Veiw mall branch and ask to hold one for me. Once I get to the counter the sales associate was very nice and understanding and going to exchange the system when the assistant manager Jason comes over accusing me of sabotaging the system and telling me he doesn't know if he can exchange it and giving me a look like I stole it and was trying to get money. So then he asked the salesman to hook it up with a smerk as if I'm lying. So he hooks it up and informs Mr Jason that the system is on, the controller doesn't work and there is a malfunction. So as I stand there embarrassed with receipt in hand he lets me know he can't swap it out but somehow do a resale transaction. I've never been so humiliated in my life. All I wanted was a system that I can play any and all games on, watch movies and enjoy the system I paid for out of my hard earned money. Every Game Stop and every associate I've encountered has always had the most out respect for all their customers. I think the store manager at Valley View should rethink his assistant manager or train him in customer service.. especially when they have receipt just asking for an exchange so they can enjoy what...
Read moreI went in to trade in an Xbox Series X. I wanted the store credit for upcoming black Friday deals. Upon entering the building I was immediately hit with a strong weed stank. I walked up to the counter and was assisted by a bald, heavyset, man with glasses.
The first thing that was off was that he told me to unpack it from the box for him. I don't mind but rude of him to request the customer to do that.
I watched him hook up the console and power it on. I watched him go through the set up process. I watched him do the input test on the controller. I did not see him put a disc in the drive. He probably forgot right?
He scanned a qr code on the screen and pressed some keys at the register. He then tells me that he can only give me $150 store credit. When I asked why so low he told me that the disc drive was malfunctioning and that it was unable to take discs. I asked if he was sure because I've never had any issues. His response was a shrug followed by a 'best we can do'. I told him if that's so then I'll just keep it. He puts the console and cables on the counter rather than back in the box and told me to have a nice day.
When I got back home I decided to check it out myself. I hook everything up and go through the setup process. Once it was all set up I grabbed a few BlueRays and tried the disc drive. Everything worked perfectly with no issues.
I never thought GameStop would get to a point where they would lie to their customers in an attempt to lowball them. Something tells me it's the location more than...
Read moreI traded in a PS4 and some games for store credit. I cancelled an in store order that I made with the gift card but was never refunded. When I cancelled the order, the website said that the funds could not be added back to my gift card so a new gift card would be mailed to me but I never received it. Apparently, the online customer service can’t see the in store transactions and vice versa so they just blame each other. There have been 30+ emails and most responses come from different people because no person is assigned your case/complaint.
I’ve asked where the balance of the $230 went and they won’t respond. I’ve asked for a list of all transactions for the gift card and they won’t respond.
Their gift card system is horrible and causes consumers to lose money because, apparently, Gamestop can’t even track purchases. Their customer service system sucks because no one person is assigned to help you. Even if 1 individual tries, to help the customer’s response will go to someone else.
Save yourself some trouble and shop elsewhere. If nothing else, don’t ever buy gift cards or take in-store credit here as they...
