We visited Hawaiian Falls Roanoke on a work deal and were excited for a fun day with our three kids. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The parking situation is rough—very limited shaded spaces and a long walk across scorching pavement just to get inside. Not ideal for families, especially in 100+ degree Texas heat. I couldn’t t believe they didn’t offer a shuttle service. Such a missed opportunity! Any Momma with multiple children and bags to tote would pay and appreciate the lift! Customer service from most of the staff was lacking. Many of the employees seemed young, untrained, and uninterested in helping. I had to ask five different people just to get clear information about cabana rentals. For the price, what they call a “cabana” is really just a pop up with a table and chairs, no loungers—definitely not worth it and quite misleading. However, I want to recognize Savannah, a manager who went above and beyond to accommodate my medical needs. As someone with Type 1 Diabetes, I wear water shoes to protect my feet from heat and injury at water parks. When lifeguards on the slides asked me to remove them, I asked to speak with a manager and explained my condition. Savannah was incredibly kind and understanding. She gave me a special wristband so I wouldn’t have to explain myself repeatedly at each slide. Her compassion and professionalism truly made a difference, and I’m so grateful. While there’s still a lot of work needed in staff training and overall guest service and the guest experience, Savannah stood out as someone who genuinely cared and represented the kind of service this park should aim for. ✨ Extra Tips for a Better Guest Experience ✨ (Especially for family-focused water parks 💦) 🪑 Offer escorts for first-time families to help them find open seating and a spot to store their belongings—this small gesture makes a big first impression! 🍔 Streamline food orders by taking guests’ names or using seat numbers instead of calling out orders. It reduces confusion and helps families relax instead of hovering near the counter. 💵 Allow teens to accept tips for providing helpful extras—like escorting guests or assisting with food delivery. It not only encourages great service but also: ✅ Attracts more teens and young adults to apply ✅ Helps staff more lifeguards so all slides can be open ✅ Keeps employees engaged instead of distracted by phones 🛝 Parents come to water parks to enjoy their kids—not to feel like they’re working. A few thoughtful touches can turn a good day into a great one! 👏🏼

This place is disgusting. There is bird poop on every surface. I stepped on part of a dead bird. The other part was a few feet away. Meanwhile, teenagers stand around holding brooms not cleaning anything. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that only teenagers were working that day and that the teenagers hadn't been trained yet which is why things weren't cleaner. I suggested that training was not needed to wipe down a table. It was opening day. I was told that the place would be clean by Memorial Day. Paint is peeling off of everything. There are serious safety concerns on the young child's play structure. The net is missing a layer making it likely that children will fall through. Rules are made up and enforced by some while others seem oblivious. The Lazy River was like floating in a sewer. It was so full of leaves I ended up with them in my bathing suit. I was told that the person who put the net in the night before did it backwards. The bathroom is gross. The door has at least six layers of paint showing as well as rust. There was no soap in the bathroom. The people there are not helpful at all. I asked to pay for a locker when I paid for admission and was told to go into the park and pay for it there even though she could have done it . I got into the park and did not know where to go and I asked two employees and they did not know either. I am from out of state and was excited to spend a fun afternoon with my niece and nephew and was extremely disappointed. This place looks like it should be condemned. I would expect the very best on an opening day. I will never return.

Hawaiian Falls Roanoke is a fantastic family-friendly waterpark that promises a day of excitement and laughter for visitors of all ages. With a wide range of water rides and attractions, it offers a refreshing getaway from the summer heat. While a few rides could benefit from updates and repairs, the overall experience at Hawaiian Falls Roanoke is enjoyable and worth a visit. The waterpark boasts an impressive selection of rides suitable for both thrill-seekers and those looking for a more relaxing experience. From thrilling slides to wave pools and lazy rivers, there's something for everyone. The younger ones can have a blast in the designated play areas with mini slides, splash pads, and interactive structures, all under the watchful eye of attentive lifeguards. While some of the rides show signs of aging, the park maintains a clean and well-kept environment. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring guests have a safe and enjoyable time throughout their visit. The dining options available cater to various tastes and provide convenient choices for a quick bite or a satisfying meal. In summary, Hawaiian Falls Roanoke is a family-friendly waterpark that offers a day of fun-filled adventures. Despite a few dated rides in need of repair, the park's overall atmosphere, friendly staff, and diverse range of water activities make it a worthwhile destination for families. Dive into the excitement and create lasting memories at Hawaiian Falls Roanoke.

Since I did not receive a response to my email we will try here. The following is the email I sent to corporate immediately after leaving on Tuesday and I am currently still waiting for a response.... Good afternoon, My family decided to visit your water park in Roanoke this afternoon. We purchased 5 - The Best Deal tickets last night online. When we arrived about 1pm we went once around lazy river then the kids tried out the play area slides but due to the lack of staff inside by the slides the bigger kids were pushing my children out of the way and going down slides 3 or more kids at a time slamming into everyone. Not feeling my children were safe we had them come down and decided to get our lunch. (We did notify 2 different staff members of the issue but there was never any staff added to the area.) Having 3 kids that only eat hot dogs of the items provided in deal we were extremely disappointed to be told that they were out of hotdogs the week of 4th of July after waiting in line for some time. We ended up getting the chicken dippers but all that was eaten was a couple fries. After lunch we decided to wait for the green half pipe slide. With no signs or directions we found out from another group that you stand next to end of slide waiting for the next raft to be available then walk it up the steps. When it was our turn we got our raft by the lifeguard at bottom and was given no further instructions. We walked up the tower then as we are already loading into raft they tell us to stop and get out to take off all our water shoes and my 5 year Olds life vest. So instead of our aquasocks being secured to our feet they are potentially projectiles we now have to hold as well as the tube handles. My 5yo started to cry after they made us take off his vest because even though he can swim it makes him feel safe. No one asked if we were ok or if he wanted to get off. Before we were sent down we asked where we could speak to a manager and were told by both lifeguards that they did not know and didn't think they had one. We went down the slide and immediately found another staff member, Shawn Dowdy, and explained our frustration and safety concerns. She was with another male worker but I did not take note of his name. When we asked about our previous mention of safety concerns he told us that they can't just produce a staff member to monitor that area. Our concern was that they shouldn't have to produce one. Someone should be located at or near all slides even in a play area. I explained that I did not feel my kids were safe and there was no way we could enjoy ourselves and requested a refund. Shawn gave me this email and advised me that corporate would issue a full refund. The gentleman was the one who offered the full refund, "so you can leave and we can be done with this". All I was given was a post it note with this email and told to mention Shawn's name. I've attached a photo of her ID badge as well. I hope this can be easily resolved. Thank you.

In addition I do want to say that this park has the potential to be a really great place but management really needs to take a good look at safety and organization concerns. The teens and young adults working there just don't...

THIS MAINLY APPLIES TO THE WHITEWATERWEST ATTRACTIONS:

Overall not too bad of a Waterpark. I didn’t rate 5 stars because most attractions Typhoon, Monsoon, Cyclone, Maui Express, Flyin Hawaiian, Hawaiian Halfpipe, & the Body Slides by the Wave Pool could use a Major repainting [Pretty Much every attraction except Whirlwind 360 and maybe Cyclone (Rush)]. Along with the repainting on Cyclone (Rush), since the speakers on rush aren’t working, I think that WhiteWaterWest (Manufacturer of every attraction at HFalls) should convert that into a Slideboarding slide (Also manufactured by WhiteWaterWest).

Also Whenever I’m at HFalls, Whirlwind 360 (AquaDrop Dual-Entry Blue & Yellow Bowl Slide) isn’t really open at all so I honestly think that should be open more often or replaced with a different attraction.

Keiki Cove (WhiteWaterWest Aquaplay Rainfortress) could definitely use a Repaint big time as well as Major fixes to the interactive water features (Especially the 1000 Gallon Dump Bucket & Warning Bell).

Note that all of these repainting things are only some suggestions to keep the park looking brand new and to attract more customers (Since it opened in 2004). I’m also saying this because idk how often WhiteWaterWest comes in to inspect the park for anything.

The slides colors are fine (I think Typhoon or Monsoon/Red Tube Slides should change to a different color: Blue or Green would be a good one) but they could just use a repaint of the same color to make it look brand new. I also think that WhiteWaterWest should put in a Family Raft Slide (Can hold up to 5-6 People) (Constrictor Slide, AquaSpheres, Mammoth, or Abyss Funnel Slide are some ideas) (Or 2) in this park so the whole family has something to do together.

Another thing is back on Keiki Cove, since it looks fairly big, maybe they should put a smaller more compact water playground for the younger kids and leave the current water playground for the older kids [Most Waterparks around the nation are doing this (For example Great Wolf Lodge Resorts & Kalahari Resorts. There is a Great Wolf Lodge location in Grapevine TX as well as a Kalahari location in Round Rock TX which will be opening later this year)]

I’m not saying that this Waterpark is bad, but as a Waterpark enthusiast, I just think this place should use a MINOR revamp on Repainting all the slides and Keiki Cove (Same Slide Color) to give it a newer look and make the park feel newer as well as attracting more customers. If y’all can afford it, since there is extra space over near The 3 Inner Tube Slides [Typhoon, Monsoon, & Cyclone (Rush)] & the 2 Yellow Speed Slides, y’all should put a family raft slide by WhiteWaterWest (Or even ProSlide if that’s possible) or 2 Family Raft Slides with the ideas I mentioned above so that way the whole family has something fun to do together!

Overall from that, the park is awesome, the staff is friendly, the attractions are awesome! Keep it up HFalls The Colony!!!

(I have also filmed most of the Slides on my GoPro Hero 3. Every slide except Torpedo &...

Horrible Experience!! I do not recommend this location at all!

I along with my brother and niece visited your water park this past Saturday. Unfortunately the experience was not great. To start, the individuals that are at the entrance set the tone for the experience. No one was "happy" to be there or happy to see customers coming. We were not aware of the cooler fee, and the young man was rude in telling us we needed one. After I purchased the cooler fee I brought the tag to the young woman that was checking the cooler. She was busy on her phone and could not be bothered to make eye contact with me. She just motioned to the cooler and mumbled something that I could not hear. I said excuse me and she literally sighed and motioned again to the cooler and abruptly told me to put it on the cooler. Soo... I placed it on the cooler and then waited for her to check it, she never turned around. My brother had to interrupt her phone time again to see if we could go on in. She again made no eye contact and just motioned with her head "yes". Great start to the day.

We went in to the park, found a table, lathered on sunscreen and headed out to the water. We were meeting other family members there and they met us at the table and they informed me that the nice boy at the front didn't charge them the cooler fee. Lucky for them, but it does bother me that I was charged. Within 15 minutes my brother motions to me. He cut his finger, actually mutilated it. His finger looked like it had been hit several time with a meat tenderizer. He went to first aid and got a bandage put around the injured finger. First aid was friendly but had no experience. The young lady was going to simply place a bandage without cleaning the injury. My next concern was that no one asked how it happened or where. I did flag a life guard down to show her.

Later.. My cousin and I were sitting in the wave pool. A young male life guard was walking by and splashed my cousin the face. He did not acknowledge that. Then on his way back the other direction, he kicked me in the head. He didn't stop, he kept going and yelled "sorry" that could barely be heard.

I understand that this business employs young adults and teenagers. The attitude that we were met with was that we were a bother. I have been to several water parks in the area, this is the first time I had been to this location and I do not think I will be coming back or be able to recommend any one either. As a mother and aunt, I want to feel safe going to a water park. I can not feel safe when it is obvious that the majority of the staff that works at the establishment have zero care about the patrons that are coming...
