Yesterday I visited the Woodhouse Spa in Rochester Hills. As I entered, two very friendly attendants were quick to welcome me and offered some tea or a mimosa. One of them took me to the changing room and gave me a nice plush robe and rubber slippers to wear. I loved their calm yet friendly approach, as well as the details of having my name on my locker, and another name inside the relaxation room which already had my mimosa waiting for me. The mimosa was tasty, you could both taste the OJ and the Champaign! The tea option also looked pretty cute in the nice tea cup, so I had a Ginger Peach tea after my massage. The ambiance light was nice, as well as the sounds and the scent. The snack bar had many tasty treats for all palates. I chose their Signature Calming Retreat package, which gave you a little bit of everything, including a dry brush scrub (that you get to keep), foot scrub and I believe it was their only option that included a scalp component. My masseuse was Jen, and she was excellent! My only suggestion would be to place more lounger chairs in the relaxation room, there’s only two and although the foot stools are nice, having a complete lounger couch felt much nicer and comfy. Lastly, getting here is super easy and they have a big parking lot super close by, so no hassle there. All in all, it was a great relaxing experience and I can see myself coming back!

I had an amazing Mother's Day Spa Experience this weekend with my husband! My husband is a spa newbie and Alexis set the bar for a true spa experience. His Gentleman’s Stone Massage with CBD enhancement was great! He would definitely schedule with Alexis again. My services were fantastic! Jessica was awesome! My Hydrafacial was amazing! She was polite, personable, and very knowledgeable on my skin type. I would definitely recommend Jessica to anyone looking for the Hydrafacial experience. My Therapeutic Stone Massage with Paige was phenomenal! Her techniques gave me the relaxation and restoration I needed! Paige was extremely attentive to my problem areas giving me the much needed relief I anticipated. I would highly recommend Paige for the full spa experience! Overall, The Woodhouse Day Spa - Rochester Hills is a safe, clean, getaway that's much needed in these times! - Brienne

Update: Owner/Manager called in regards to this review. She is extremely rude and unprofessional. Raised her voice and kept trying to get me off the phone. Almost all places where you have a bad experience, they want to help change that by offering another client experience or refund of service. She stated that is “not in their policy and if I wasn’t going to have a good time coming back for a service, why would she even offer such a thing to me”. Absolutely rude and obscured. Why would you offer? Customer service. Even if there was no service there is a whole section of the spa that is retail. I was completely in shock by the way she was speaking to me. She was absolutely not going to make anything better. As the call went on with her she got more of an attitude and even more rude. Began arguing with me about this instead of offering a solution. A week and a half after this my neck is still in pain from the weird and rough “service”.

Really wish it wasn’t 1 star. The atmosphere here is absolutely amazing but the services are not. It was my third time here for a massage. This was a Christmas gift of a $150 gift card. The front desk didn’t seem to know what was going on as far as taking myself and two other women back to the changing area which was very cramped. I cannot remember the masseuses name. She had no idea what kind of massage I was getting. I said I was getting a deep tissue and she responded with “is that what you want?” (Asked me nothing else, I didn’t get a pre-massage sheet to fill out either so she would’ve had no idea where to work more on or where not to massage.)When I made my reservation for such. I figured she would know what she was walking into. I am not sure what kind of massage I got but it was the furthest thing from relaxing. She shook my head multiple times, vigorously. Not pleasant. The rooms have sliding doors to other rooms where I could hear the full conversation/every word said next door to my room.. Nothing was relaxing about this experience. The massage was not relaxing or rejuvenating. I left feeling weird and my body was just absolutely uncomfortable. I’ve had deep tissue massages before which were amazing and left me feeling like I was on a cloud the rest of the day. This one left me feeling mine I just went thru a tsunami and banged my head against every object possible. I did leave with a headache. I’m really really disappointed with the whole thing. This was done on Saturday and I’m still bummed out about the ordeal. In all, I feel bad that this was a wasted gift from my parents and would not be back. I am hoping management sees this and trains up their staff.

bummed...

Gifted a friend a massage for her birthday. My friend expressed that she wanted to have a spa date TOGETHER so I requested a day of PTO and booked appointments SEVERAL weeks in advance. The person who scheduled the appointment even went so far as to ask if we wanted to receive massages in the same room. We had a very detailed conversation about using the gift card for both of our deposits and me paying the remaining balance at our appointment 5/7/25.

Fast forward to the day of our appointment - I was told that the only appointment they had on file was for my friend and they did not have another female masseuse to service me. I was offered a $25 gift card and a pedicure so that my friend’s appointment wouldn’t be a waste, which I accepted but did not need (my nails and toes were already done). A staff member came out, called me by MY name and took me to a room for a massage saying she had me on her scheduled assignments since that morning. At that time I got undressed, laid on the table, thankful that the misunderstanding had been cleared up just for her to come back in and say that the massage was actually for my friend (Chanel) and that my nail tech was ready for me. So I had to get up, dressed again and headed to the pedicure service. This leads me to believe my appointment was actually booked correctly and maybe given away?

I appreciate the thought with comping the pedicure but I booked a service that I knew would be relaxing to me and a pedicure with constant movement and small talk was not relaxing in the least bit. However, the 2 stars is for the nice young lady who did my nails because she was a sweetheart.

Additionally - while getting my nails done someone was brought back for their manicure but reported to have actually booked a pedicure. The nail techs had a brief moment discussing how the appointments have been “off” lately and they were glad they prepared for a pedicure just in case.

Please work to resolve whatever is going on with your scheduling system. Some people take off of work and anticipate weeks in advance to treat themselves just to be...

I had a fairly good experience during my service. When I was trying to leave is when I ran into a problem. When I walked out, there were two girls behind the counter. One of the girls was on the phone trying to book an appointment. The other girl was just clicking away on the computer. When I walked up, the girl on the computer said that the other girl would be able to help once she got off the phone. So I stood there for awhile and wandered around their retail just waiting patiently. The girl on the phone set the phone down and disappeared for a few minutes and then came back to the phone. I still stood waiting to check out. After I had been waiting to check out for 5 minutes the girl ended her phone call as another guest was coming out to pay. Instead of taking care of me (the person that had been standing in front of you waiting for you to end your phone call for the last 5 minutes) she took the lady waking out then. The other girl sitting on the computer this entire time had nothing to say and just kept her nose in the computer. She should have said actually this guest has been waiting to check out but instead she ignored the situation and did nothing. I spoke up and said am I all set then? I've been waiting to check out? She fumbled over her words and called someone from the back to come ring me up and check me out. If someone was 10 feet away, why weren't they called out 10 minutes ago? No apology for the wait. No apology for taking the other guest ahead of me even though I had been waiting. It turned a good experience to a bad one pretty quick. Train your front desk staff as they are the face of your business. They are the first ones to greet your guests and the last ones to make an impression on your guests,...
