The amount of racial discrimination I have to accept or go through everyday…….. 🤯🤯😵💫😵💫🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮… I’m not talking about my career or church…. Just everyday folk at the grocery store Or for this instance The ENTIRE STAFF of an establishment. I’m in my mid 30s going on late 30s and people up North are straight up ugly and people wonder why …I am as polite as they can be and I try to keep my calm and Christian composure. Try to make a resolution, but I’m also 58 in the head….. as I would say to my students “no thank you “or “all done “ as in meaning wrong is wrong right as right… STOP… No means NO… but I also like to treat people with love and respect and understand that we have hard times and when I go out, I like to treat people as such because you never know what they’re growing through !! I am a hard-working taxpaying American and when I go out to or for ANY Service industry, it doesn’t matter what it is. I always tip. If it’s a hairdresser nail tech it don’t matter I always tip. Ask anyone. I don’t ask for discounts unless I win it for free….. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC….. idk why i pay and TIP….. to be treated like 🗑️I would ever endorse or go ever again.this is ridiculous but I’m crushed and HEARTBROKEN 💔.I stayed in Michigan because I thought people would be more accepting of myself and my child Even now at 34 years old, I struggle with Caucasians and African-Americans like and Native Americans well . How are we in America but America don’t accept us… 😭😭😭😭😭… We are not enough of this or that… BUT WHY DOES it doesn’t matter either way…smh.. I had a whole child free weekend solo. The staff n the environment n the way I was treated as a first TIME CUSTOMER The representation of your Establishment and Restaurant… Out of a score of 20…. When it come to any persons of COLOR… -2.0 AOL dial-UP version/ 20!! I do need to work on n ask for forgiveness for the anger and the bitterness/fustration… the only positive experience I had was with the older AKA at another retail store… She swore up n down I’d have a “ wonderful experience “….I’m just sooooooooo baffled n offended and they tried to ACCUSE me of “walking out on a bill” but the whole staff wouldn’t even let me fishish my MEAL “ appetizer, drink and entree” that I fully enttened on paying for plus a CASH TIP !!! I use the restroom twice and each time I got up, they cleared the table of all of the food prepared….🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️, but I left an item there each time so they knew I would return in good faith and I also informed the hostess ( Elyssa or ALyssa) that I was not done with my meal and I was just going to the rest room and coming back to my table to complete my meal n dinning experience ….. AS A WOMAN n a DIRECT DESCENDANT of (persons) who ALSO … SERVERED and worked service industry for over a decade… I have never been a part of “walk out “on on your meal . I may have been guilty of not tipping, but never on a whole meal.I have a list of health violations that I have recorded in my notebook so when you are ready. 🙋🏾♀️💁🏽♀️🤷🏾♀️💯💯💯👍🏾👍🏾🤔🤔🤯🤯🤯 I have been discriminated and slandered … Culturally, Morally, and Ethically …. On All platforms…. Makes me question “ why in the hell do I even defend a country that doesn’t allow people like me to have a “ Right or Voice “ in a room filled of ppl… when I just have a complaint I decided to go out alone…. and I was treated like a criminal without being a criminal… or the “ stereotypical angry/ crazy black girl” and even though I’m a teacher and A COMPLETE MUTT… n serve the public, no one said anything or try to defend or speak up I walked away with tears defeated but that’s OK even if this post gets nothing or anything happens. wrong is wrong I will not support or endorse or give any money to any establishment that will not be accepting to people like myself… A civil mediation is requested on why and with ALL your GM of Bravo Italian Kitchen and The Village of Rochester Hills Help Me Hankwould like to investigate an interesting story here in...
Read moreWe came to your restaurant on Friday night to celebrate my husband’s birthday. He ordered the Fra Diavolo, and I had the Eggplant Parmesan. We also ordered calamari as an appetizer, and for dessert, we got tiramisu. I work in the food and beverage industry, and I know how important customer service and attention to detail are. Unfortunately, both our visits this week were disappointing, and I felt it was important to share our experience.
On Friday, when the food arrived, I had asked the server to make sure my Eggplant Parmesan noodles were served with marinara sauce instead of buttered noodles. When the food runner brought my dish, I explained that I had requested marinara on the noodles, not butter. The food runner gave me a funny look and insisted the noodles come with butter, so I repeated my request. She then took the dish back and returned with my correct order. Unfortunately, there was very little sauce—just a small amount underneath the eggplant, leaving the dish quite dry. I asked the server if she could bring me more marinara sauce when she had a chance. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so I waited, but by the time she returned, we were almost finished eating. I never received the extra sauce I had asked for.
When we finished, we ordered tiramisu for my husband’s birthday. The server brought it out, placed the check on the table, and didn't follow up, leaving us feeling rushed out.
On Sunday, we returned with my sister and brother-in-law, as we had gift cards to use. This time, the server was a gentleman, but unfortunately, the experience was just as underwhelming. He was cold and didn’t engage with us at all. When we ordered, we asked for two orders of calamari as appetizers, along with drinks. The server then took our meal orders. My husband and brother-in-law had the chicken Marsala, I had the margarita pizza, and my sister had the Caprese chicken. We also ordered Caesar salads, but didn’t have dessert that night.
The food on Sunday wasn’t great either. Both my husband and brother-in-law felt the chicken Marsala lacked flavor and had barely any sauce. My pizza was fine but nothing special, and my sister’s Caprese chicken was underwhelming. What was especially frustrating was that after we were served, the server never came back to check on us. As someone who works in this industry, I know that a good server should check in within 2 to 3 minutes of the food being served. We received no table touch, and we had to flag the server down when we needed refills. By the time he returned, we were almost done, and he just asked if we wanted dessert. We declined but asked for drink refills, which he eventually brought.
When it was time to pay, we used the iKind app and gift cards. We left a $40 tip on the app and another $10 from the gift cards and 10 in cash, for a total of $60 in tips. I made sure to tell the server about the cash tip, but his attitude remained indifferent.
Given the prices you charge, I expected much better service. The food was inconsistent, and the service was the worst I’ve had in a while. We won’t be returning, as both visits left us feeling neglected and underwhelmed, especially considering it was for special...
Read moreOn Saturday 11/2/24 at around 5:30pm, I visited the Bravo in Rochester for the second time in the past 6 months. I have always referred to Bravo as my favorite place for Italian in the area but have felt for some time that the restaurant has been declining steadily in quality. Saturdays visit confirmed these feelings.
The service we received from our waitress Tere was among the worst I can recall, at any restaurant. From the time she “greeted” us several minutes after being seated to the time she ran the checks an hour later she was disinterested, impolite and utterly unpleasant.
Any questions that we had about beverage offerings or menu options she responded to curtly, with one or two words, as if she were annoyed that she even had to be there. This couldn’t have been because she was busy because when she wasn’t at one of her tables all she did was stand with her arms folded, expressionless, at expo.
What made this experience particularly uncomfortable was that we were on a first date and both of us picked up on how rude our server was right away. At one point I said “I don’t think she likes us very much.” To which my date responded “No, she’s being really rude.”
We both ordered entrees, I had a side caesar and my date had Italian wedding soup. Our entrees came out literally 2 minutes after the salad and soup were set down. As we ate, our server Tere, not one single time, asked us how things tasted or if she could get us anything else.
We had to flag her down at one point when my date asked for another iced tea. She responded with “Refills aren’t free, do you still want one?” - after she came back with the tea he complained to me that it didn’t taste like the previous one. When we told Tere this she simply said “so do you want more syrup?”. When she came back with a disposable ramekin of flavored syrup I was absolutely astonished. I could not believe that, on top of not expressing and concern or saying sorry, that rather than completely remake the drink she chose instead to bring out some more syrup on the side.
After we asked for boxes she asked “Do you want any dessert?”. When we said no she brought the check and I had to ask her to split it. Again, in line with her blithe indifference and laziness she asked “just down the middle?” I said “no, his stuff on his bill, mine on mine.” When she brought the checks back my date paid in cash and was asked “Do you need change?” And I paid with my card. When she brought back the copy of the receipt for me to sign she said “Have a good night”.
Never once were we asked about the quality of our food. Never once did she apologize or express any concern over menu items not being correct. And not one single time did she say the words “thank you”.
The service we received at Bravo was downright atrocious. I cannot express how angry our server’s blatant rudeness made me.
I will not be back to this restaurant and I highly discourage anyone...
