Read moreMy family and I were a relatively big group going on the zip lines.
Two kids could easily go on one level without getting backed up by each other. However, I frequently saw groups of three people running into one another on one platform.
Staff was very nice at sign in but staff on the grounds seemed tired and unmotivated to do much about any dangerous situations. My sibling was going onto one of the blue courses and found out one of the platforms wasn’t properly secured, which was a safety hazard in itself. Luckily, I was able to tell staff and they got my sibling down, and they fixed the problem quickly.
I advise that parents go on the courses if they have kids ten years or younger, this is mainly because some of the courses and platforms move a lot, so balance is a bit tricky. However, the zip lines have a bit of a rough and fast landing, which is exhilarating for teens, (such as myself) but may be scary for younger kids because you can’t really stop, much less pull yourself up onto the platform.
Staff also seemed to not be paying attention to which wristbands people had on. Even letting young kids go on the much more challenging courses without as much as a glance.
There are many places where parents can watch their children from the ground, which is a plus. And parents could also do mini golf to pass the time if they get bored for some extra money.
Overall, if you are in the area just visiting, this is a must do for any adventurous people and their family or friends. Definitely worth it...
Read moreWhat are the safety precautions here when children arrive for a field trip? I thought because there is a zip line that a “staff” member would be at the start and the finish of the zip line, or all apparatus’s, especially when there are children there on a field trip, but that is not the case at this place apparently.
My daughter went on a field trip here yesterday and got stuck on the zip line. She did what she was told in the video which is, when in need of assistance, yell “staff” and a “staff” member will come to help you. It took at least five humiliating minutes for someone to finally pay attention and come to her rescue. My daughter stated it was quiet, there was no music playing, and no one else was yelling or yelling with her to get attention. So the fact my daughter yelled for at least five minutes before someone came to help her is appalling. There were “staff” that were amongst the other children waiting and also walking around, but “staff” did not look my daughter’s way.
How does this happen when other students are waiting to go to next on the zip line and there are plenty of witnesses who could have also assisted in yelling “staff”, but chose not too? Everyone notices a crowd piling up or people yelling, but this was missed somehow? “Staff” was also walking around and also paid my daughter no mind. There just so happened to be no teachers around as well.
Everyone should be held accountable, but no one seems to take any...
