Nestled just minutes from downtown Rochester, Cascade Lake Park offers a refreshing escape into nature—and now, it’s also becoming one of the city’s favorite spots for live music and community gatherings. With its open-air stage and lakeside views, the park is the perfect blend of natural beauty and vibrant entertainment.

With grassy amphitheater-style seating, visitors can bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets to enjoy performances in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.
Each summer, the park comes alive with the Cascade Concert Series, featuring local bands, regional artists, and multicultural showcases that reflect Rochester’s diverse and growing arts scene. Whether it’s a jazz ensemble at sunset, acoustic folk under the stars, or upbeat pop that gets everyone dancing, the stage at Cascade Lake brings people together through music.
Beyond the stage, Cascade Lake Park features walking trails, a swimming beach, shaded picnic areas, and plenty of green space—making it an ideal destination for a full day out. Food trucks and local vendors often accompany events, adding flavor to the festive atmosphere.

Read moreWe visited this park while staying in Rochester for the weekend (late July). It was perfect. I’d like to meet the person who designed this park, because it is that incredible. Like a storybook, or Cocomelon, ideal design. A little kid playground, adjacent big kid playground, AMAZING native prairie garden with a storybook trail and “secret” pond, a fenced off beach / lake, CLEAR water for swimming/kayaking/sand castle building, a pier for fishing, bike trail around the lake, pavilion for parties, nice benches, nice TRASH CANS for that matter, and a bathroom just the right distance away from it all. I’m sure there’s more I’m missing, but we only visited twice as out of towners. Really awesome park.

Read moreWe took our family gathering to the play area to enjoy some free play exercise time. When we arrived, there were well over 2 dozen vehicles already there, but plenty of room for our 5 vehicles and many more. Plus there were bikes in the bike racks and people coming and going via the beautiful trail system that incorporates the park. What a wonderfully designed play area. It is definitely utilized. Even though there were many people using the equipment the children were never waiting or looking for something to do. The beach area looked very inviting. I only wish it was swimming season. Some of my family mentioned they have also fished there. They also talked of all the beautiful plants that encompass the grounds once growing season kicks in. I enjoyed the upside down tree art and the xylophone. This facility offers much more. I think almost everyone at any age would find something they would enjoy on a visit...
