Growing up, any time we went to Macy's it was for a special occasion. When it was time for young men to get their first suit (or a new suit), it was always Macy's men's department. My husband grew up the same way. When his mother passed and he wanted a new suit, the associate who helped him was amazing. He even found a seamstress that could make the necessary alternations by the next morning. Oh, how times have changed. This week we needed to get a new suit for him, and it was (again) for a sad reason. So of course we went to Macy's. When I say there was no one in the men's department, I am not kidding. There was a father/son, a mother/son, another couple, and the two of us and no one was around to help. We couldn't find sizes, jackets were mislabeled, and the area was disorganized. Both parents with their children left without making a purchase. I come to find one poor woman running around the entire department. She was dashing between pulling shoes from the back, managing the register, and answering random questions from customers. Once we found a pair of suit pants, we decided to give up on the jacket. He did, however, need to try on shoes. She was finally able to get a second associate to come help her, after after half an hour, my husband found one pair that fit. To say their dress shoe options for men is woefully lacking. Macy's needs to do a better job supporting their associates. There are still many individuals who prefer to go try on clothes in person - especially when purchasing a suit. And to expect one associate to run around a huge department alone isn't fair to the employee, forget about what is right for the customer. Be...

I want to recognize an amazing employee named Kelly at Macy’s Customer Service. She helped me not just as a customer, but on a personal level. She noticed I was having a difficult moment and went out of her way, and much above and beyond her role as customer service, to offer genuine kindness, patience, and support. In a world where most interactions feel rushed, this one stood out in the best way. Kelly not only solved all my issues I was having with my Macy’s order easily and efficiently but then she offered to help walk me around the store with me to help me shop and even offered to be an ear for me if I needed to vent when she realized what exactly I was going through. Kelly reminded me that compassion and empathy still exist in customer service, and I left feeling better than when I walked in. Her kindness, patience, and genuine willingness to help truly stood out and made my day. It’s rare to find such attentive/kindhearted customer service, and I really appreciated the extra effort. I’m incredibly grateful for her thoughtfulness, and I hope the store recognizes what a valuable person/asset they have on their team. She alone is the reason why I am so happy to return to Macy’s in Rockaway Mall as a...
