Michaels — Attraction in Rockaway Township

For the majority of DIY crafts projects—there is nothing better than walking through a Michael’s store and getting not only the supplies you need for your projects but also ideas to spark new projects!

The only thing I could not find were latch hook rug kits for adults. It seems that the market shifted to rug hooking but I love the original latch hook process. I started my son’s latch hook wall hanging rug several years ago as a graduation present. He graduated three years ago—it took longer than expected! It is approximately 3 feet by 2 feet. I was able to purchase the binding and threads to finish off the back and I’m still working on it but here is the rug so far…. Anyhow, I enjoy Michael’s, appreciate the journey and discovery through the aisles. Also love checking out the sales around the store! I found a pure wood craft box with adjustable compartments at half price!

I stopped at the Rockway NJ store around 11am had no ideal what the procedure was , the phone number outside I figure was for store but it was recording and no one to talk to. There were two cars waiting for curbside pickup so I figure the salesperson would ask me if I needed help. Girl come out for 1st car then the 2nd car so I figure she would ask me if I needed help or had any questions about process. NO she look at me and walk away. I shout out to her about the process she told me I need to order on line and wait 2-3 hours to see if my order can be completed. I love Michaels as its like a dreamland for an artist. They have good sale on canvas and acrylic paints. Their charms are lovely and have treasures of all kinds. However they don't have anything dinosaur related. The store had everything unicorn and most of the items were geared towards girls. Boys can be artists too but my son doesn't want to color unicorn figurines. I wish they had more variety for young boys who are into arts and crafts. They were also out of candy melts particularly red and orange too. Most items are priced very fair and affordable but there are a few that are quite expensive and I got the same for a cheaper...
