I really wanted to like this place, but for me to give an honest review - this place deserves one star.
Let me start off by saying that I LOVE sushi, both raw and cooked fish. I have been eating it for years.
I stopped in on my way into work, that way I could utilize the 50% off sushi special. I ordered one spicy tuna roll, and two of this special spicy tuna roll that was wrapped in avocado instead of rice; and also included an acidic "special sauce"
I was very excited to eat my food, as I was craving sushi all morning until they opened. I ate a couple pieces, and had to immediately stop.
The spicy tuna - NO LIE - tasted like what dog food smells like. I felt like I was going to be sick. I gagged as I tried to swallow down a second piece.
I was extremely polite about it, I just asked for the check so I could pay and go into work. They asked if I wanted to wrap my food when I asked for the check, I replied, "no I am okay thank you for asking."
Once I paid and started to get my things to get up, another person that worked there approached me and asked me why I was not wrapping my food. I awkwardly smiled and she said "you don't like it?"
At this point, I figured they wouldn't let me go until I told them. I replied "Yes, I'm sorry"
The woman looked at me, and looked at the food and snarkily said "maybe next time you shouldn't order raw fish...maybe you should have ordered cooked fish instead"
Now, I am already out $30 for this meal, then this woman had the audacity to tell me I should order what I like and then I will be able to eat it ? When I didn't even give them a hard time about how disgusting it was to have to try to eat to begin with?
Yeah, NO. That was the straw for me. I LOVE sushi, I just don't like super low quality "dog food" sushi.
Save your money, go to SOGO or somewhere a little...
Read moreI am a local; I’ve been living in this town for over 10 years- compared to other local restaurants, this one by far has been the most disrespectful.
I argued that they had gotten my order wrong yet insisted I ordered it.But I received all the items I asked for with the ADDITION of 2 APPETIZERS I did NOT order.
The employee was finally cooperative after a conversation of going back and forth and I had to ASK for a refund (i am NOT paying for something i did not order). I expected a restaurant that is rated highly on the internet to at least OFFER to give the refund back. The fact that the employee would have let me walk out in regards to paying an additional $14 for something I DID NOT ORDER says a lot about the kind of management that is being run.
there have been multiple occurrences where they get my order incorrect (which is fine, it is a human mistake) but then they consistently try to force it on me that I had asked for / ordered a particular menu item.
Edit: you thought i said wontons because i said WONTON SOUP. YOU ADDED the crispy noodles in my order. then added some fried wontons i didnt ask for. Next time, you should be REPEATING the orders back to make sure you heard it right. and maybe instead of hurrying to hang up and get off the phone, you should review the order and read...

3/23/18 Update - seems like a change in ownership? No staff look familiar :( The food was still ok... Love boat for two was alright. Had the vegetable dumplings, they were good. Service not the best, had to ask several times for tea. The music selection is different as well. Fortune cookies still the same :) It feels different, even though it looks the same.... Not sure if we will make an effort to come here as much as we used to-
Been coming here for 4+ years. Usually service is good and over the years has become friendlier, due in part to my efforts to be overly friendly with the staff, they remember us nowadays :)
The food is good, we usually go here for sushi, it's nice to BYoB & no corking fee. The sushi is good and we've never had a bad piece. I expect that trend to continue. The free crunchy noodles are not so good & I don't eat them. The fortune cookies are the best! And I always ask for more.
With the 50% off deal, it's...
