Cocoa-Rockledge Garden Club — Attraction in Rockledge

Rockledge/Cocoa is a great venue to hold any event because of Daphne! She is personable and truly understands the importance of an event. She went out of her way to take the time to accomodate the urgency of our needing a venue out of her busy schedule. (When i called needing to rent a place to hold my father's celebration of life being that the"planned" venue to where it was going to be held eliminated the use of kitchen facilities...she informed me that Rockledge Garden Club had those accomodations! It exceeded my families' expectations although i hadn't even seen the place). On such short notice, she literally took the time to schedule me the same day that i made the call inquiring instead of the day the event needed to be held (on Monday/Feb. 5, 2024 ). Daphne was actually taking her pet dog to an "emergency" appointment when i called and she was so kind to let me know she'd call me right back. She most certainly kept her word and i was able to meet with her, tour the building even when she had a family already at the venue setting up for their event the following day (meeting with me privately in another room). That's going above and beyond to accomodate my family's upcoming event! She met me on that Friday before our Monday's event. Not only had she the understanding...she was extremely understanding in finishing up and helping to set up the venue that day of my father's ceremony (he passed December 01, 2023) as my sister from out of town was under time contraints decorating the table tops that very morning and still needed to drive to the Nat'l VA cemetary in Mims. This is the kind of individual you deal with that truly understands the importance of events. Daphne doesn't run a venue for just a business but for what she believes in: the importance of holding a venue and her clients' needs. She is an amazing individual and provides honesty with what she can accomplish for you. She is highly effective with her abilities to listen to her clients' requests and is honest with what she is able to accomodate. Daphne has a sincerely true gift with the business she runs and we all...my families from all over this world can't thank you enough for your "magic" in having been so effective and helpful in times of our crisis. Just anyone...please give her ample time when having to plan any event. She is one busy busy lady and her efforts should be taken into consideration and with much appreciation for all that Daphne does!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You've been such a blessing to us all. Yes...this venue is a one story building with a beautiful treed amole parking in back. It accomodates persons with disabilities (even a 2d bathroom to accomodate wheelchair access). Alao a diaper changing station! Kitchen is a full size with a very large refrigerator (there are two). A double wall oven and microwave and the restaurant style counter table is a real plus especially if you have entrees to be served. There also is a dumster on the property for convenient clean up of any trash collected. We like that there is also a cute garden with benches and the small attached courtyard to the back entrance. FIND ANOTHER RANGE

Beautiful range but staff were rude. Saw the counter lady checking in staff with some unwarranted hostility for questions about admission. I felt sorry for the elderly man getting chewed out for asking how to get in while I went to use the bathroom.

When I entered the range, they check all your weapons to make sure they are unloaded. I read the rules ahead of time and made sure everything was clear and safe.

Range was hot. I went to put my bag facing down range in a safe direction like every other range does and was screamed at like i pointed a weapon at his family. They wanted to check my weapons at the bench behind the fire line (fair enough but why not check weapons for clear and safe pointing downrange?)

RSO angrily took all my weapons and pointed them one by one at the parking lot to clear them. Only thing between us and the cars and people was a chain link fence. Safety rule violation by an RSO! "Do not point your weapon at anything you do not intend to destroy". I asked why not point them in a safe direction downrange? Also not a fan of him tossing them back in the bag like a rock on top of the others.

In the middle of lining up my shot, another RSO dropped a sandbag on the table right next to me while looking down my scope. Inconsiderate while I am shooting and looking down my scope.

I was as polite as possible. This is not my range and not my rules but there is such a thing as universal firearm safety rules. Great range but the staff are terrible. I am a combat veteran and gun enthusiast. It is hard to have the experience I have and watch these RSOs and staff walk around like the little "badasses" that they think they are treating people like this.
