Magdalen's Pure Skin Care — Attraction in Rockville

I was searching on google for a place to get waxed since the woman I was going to, was going on a long vacation. Magdalen’s was one the few names/places that popped up. The street name sounded familiar from when on old conversation I had with a friend when we were talking about waxing. She told me she had gone to a place on Hungerford for a wax and was satisfied. I spoke to my friend and a few weeks ago and asked if Magdalen's was the place she was telling me about in the past. And it was! Very clean and organized place. Magdalen is kind and friendly! She is quick and efficient and let me tell you, this waxing experience was SO much better than the place I was going to be before. Will definitely be doing my waxes with Magdalen

———————— Coming back to update my review. I’ve had acne in high but wasn’t too bad, my acne flared up my sophomore year in college and just has been an issue since. Birth control helped keep it away but I got off in 2020. A year after I got off my acne returned. Saw two dermatologists. Stopped seeing once because she wasn’t in network with the new insurance we had at my job and the second one wanted me to do acutane. Nothing against it, but I didn’t feel it was severe enough for such a heavy medication. I tried out the chemical peel and I’ve noticed my face is getting brighter in some areas and my acne is calming down. I have a feel more peels to do since I have so much hyperpigmentation from years of acne, acne scars and just from the sun. But I’m excited to see what I look like after this is done, wish had found Magdalen sooner! I will post more progress pics as I get them done, I have another peel scheduled soon...

Ms. Magdalen does well in the area of waxing. As a first time Brazilian there, she made me feel comfortable. She is hilarious and will quickly put your mind at ease. Her shop is VERY CLEAN and she is prompt. Furthermore, her prices are a little bit better than most business that are all about financial gain. She also offers a 51% discount for first timer's.Lastly, she recommends as much hair as possible. Now, Sarah (from 4years ago) was right about #1. About the number of reviews. 1.7K, all 5star.."way minute"😒. #2. She doesn't leave the room. #3. She does use a bright light and yes, she missed quite a few...not one or two..more than that. Sarah was right about other things as well. I was happy to support but...😶

Update response: To start, I apologize for changed review. Not for what was said but because it was a discussion between my friend and I. She had my account open and adjusted the review. -Was I extremely satisfied with the service - not really. It was ok. Yes, some areas were completely missed and others untouched. Yes, she compensated me for not doing one area, as I was checking out and instead, charged me for another area. For example: stomach strip that has no hair, without doing upper lip and chin that has hair (unwanted and visible). No, I will not becoming back but that's because I'm relocating and prefer to explore my own "central park" backyard. The long hours drive, isn't for me. Overall score 3 stars for me...my home girl after me, 2 stars.

Omg where do I even start?! Magdalen (I’m convinced) is a magical unicorn fairy princess of a waxer. I needed a wax desperately and happened to see that she had thousands of 5 star reviews and so many comments from people saying that the type of wax she uses is different and that combined with her technique hurts a lot less. Now listen, I’d been burned before….literally. The only times I had ever been waxed were from satan’s den aka European Wax Center. Those experiences were horrific to the point where I just had to stop getting waxed because the very last time I went they gave me actual second degree burns. Second degree burns where the sun don’t shine was NOT fun at all and I was straight up traumatized. But anyway, back to Magdalen! She was able to fit me in same day which is nuts because she books out so far (for a very good reason). It was a super duper clean, almost spa-like experience relaxation wise which like who can say that about getting hair ripped from the most sensitive area of your body?! Everyone who said that her wax and her technique made the wax less painful were actually UNDERSELLING it. I’m not even joking when I say we were just chatting and laughing throughout the entire wax!!! The most pain I felt was like a tiny pinch. I am so in awe of Magdalen and have already booked my next appointment. It also doesn’t hurt that she is hilarious and sweet and radiates such joy. I didn’t feel uncomfortable or in pain for a second. I’m like in love with her. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I can’t wait for my next Brazilian wax. Love...
