I visited this nail salon on a Saturday with my best friend after calling ahead to book a 3:30 appointment for two Gel-X sets. Despite confirming availability, the experience was disorganized and extremely disappointing from start to finish. When I arrived, Lani was the first technician to work on my nails. She began removing my old set, then abruptly left me soaking in acetone for about 20 minutes while she started working on another client. That amount of soaking is excessive and damaging — and considering I had a scheduled appointment, completely unprofessional. When she finally came back, she began drilling my nails and repeatedly hit my cuticles, causing one to bleed and leaving the rest feeling raw and painful. Then, she started choosing Gel-X tips that were clearly too large. They dug into my cuticles and skin, making them uncomfortable and painful. I voiced my discomfort, but instead of properly resizing them, she tried to drill down the sides of the tips while they were already on — which only made things worse. I checked in on my friend and the man working on her nails — Tam — kindly stepped in to try and fix mine. I want to emphasize that Tam was very nice, respectful, and genuinely tried to help, and I appreciated that. However, despite his good intentions, the results were still bad. The oversized nails, uneven shaping, and damaged base made it difficult to fix. I had asked for red chrome, and while he attempted to improve the look, the final product was mediocre at best. There was still gel left under my nails, the paint was uneven, and the surfaces were bumpy. I had to repeatedly ask for the sides to be fully painted and even had to return and ask for a large chunk of gel to be drilled off that had been left underneath. My cuticles were sore and raw from the constant friction and mistakes. What’s worse is that I paid $90 (before tip) — $65 for the set, $10 for chrome, and $15 just for shaping into almond, which is hardly an extreme request. For that kind of price, I expected professional and pain-free service, and I received the exact opposite. I’ve included pictures of both my nails and my friend’s. While I think mine ultimately turned out slightly better, that’s only because I had to constantly advocate for myself, point out mistakes, and beg for corrections. My friend wasn’t as vocal — and unfortunately, it shows in the final result of her set, which turned out even worse. Tam’s kindness doesn’t make up for the fact that the service was unprofessional and the results were subpar. I will not be returning, and I don’t recommend this salon unless you're prepared to spend a lot of money for painful, low-quality nails.

This wonderful, one-of-a-kind business is more than my favorite nail salon; it is an essential part of my village. There are so many aspects to this incredible place that make it stand out among the countless salons I have been to over the years, but perhaps the most noteworthy one is how Tam and his team welcome you like family each and every time. Each magical, immersive experience here has been one of my truest escapes, and I consider the Nail Tech family FAMILY at this point (and they really are a family! Brothers, sisters, AND grandparents!) As a small business owner, I know how difficult it is to ensure 100% satisfaction each and every time a client comes for a lesson or a manicure/pedicure. With so many walk-ins, I am truly astounded by how they manage even unscheduled customers with ease, elegance, and a kindness that is rare in this industry AND in this world. From the soothing surprises they offer in addition to every service you choose (you will be in HEAVEN, I assure you), to the sheer gifts of their generous spirits and the relaxing atmosphere they maintain, you will surely not find a better nail salon in the entire DMV! Visit this beautiful business, owned by a beautiful family--you will be so grateful you did.

I've been going here for 8 years. Started out with my eyebrows. Nobody could ever get my eyebrows correct. Tam is so amazing that my daughter would visit from NJ and make an appointment. I was missing for a minute. Had a tough 8 months. I called today to make an appointment. I said Tam this is Tracey. He said on my God where have you been? How is everyone? Are you ok? I've been out and about always looking for you. I was almost in tears. Walked into the shop and received a big hug. Everyone was glad to see me. An Amazing feeling. I missed them so much. All of my family comes here. Felt like we haven't missed a beat. Kathy wasn't there to do my feet but his wife did an amazing job. His father gives amazing hand massages. Great experience! Stop by and tell them Tracey said hi..LOL

My nails look great and I’ve actually no complaints there. However, I live in an area where I can get a great manicure many places and will not be returning here. First of all, I don’t know what these people are talking about that it’s a calming or clean place. It is not calming in the least there is no theme or vibe to this place. It is like a HomeGoods and big lots clearance section threw up in there. There’s all kinds of rope lights tropical plants and Random Water features With metal art and Christmas lights and Christmas icicles and jungle sound effects Which are so distracting and unnecessary Coupled with pop music. I feel the opposite of spa like. They were friendly at first, but their desperate attempts to upsell me were really offputting. They told me that they didn’t charge me the 10 extra dollars that they usually charge customers for the shape of nail I wanted. What? You would have to Spend time shape the nail of anyone who came in there, regardless of what shape they wanted. It’s pretty standard practice of a manicure. I’ve had this shape and other shapes at dozens of different nail places and they never have charged extra for the shape I requested. That’s not a thing. So thanks, but no thanks. But the real reason I will never return here is because one of the women who works there Said I had soft hands to which I responded with thank you and then she said “ It’s like you don’t do anything”. Wow, how incredibly rude and insulting. You don’t know anything about me or what I do and don’t do. I have a neuromuscular disease and And therefore, do not work with my hands, I work with my brain. Later on, she had the nerve to ask me if after my appointment I was gonna go home and go to sleep or if I was gonna go home and cook. I assume this was her way of trying to see if I was married or had children. Whether I do, or whether I don’t is really none of her business, but she could’ve also just asked if I was married or had children directly instead of asking me a weird question About my after work plans after she had just accuse me of doing nothing. I will be returning to my old nail salon down the road where they understand and respect the fact that I work Just as hard as they do and would never suggest that I am a lazy person who does nothing because I have soft hands. When I first arrived before any of this happened I thought, “how cute a family business. I will definitely be spending a lot of money here from now on”....

I had the worst experience there. The day before my wedding I went there to get my nails done and the technician completely ruined them. I had mentioned to her that I was getting married the next day, to let her know I really wanted my nails to look nice and I asked for a simple gel French tip with square nails. I never really pay much attention to my nails, so this for me was a big deal. The lady began to file my nails and she seemed to not really be paying attention to what she was doing, so much so that my nails ended up extremely jagged and unsmooth. When I asked her to please fix them she just looked at my annoyed and didn't make them better. Then she started with French tip, which was again extremely uneven and looked almost rediculous. I again asked her if she could fix it but, again she just gave me an annoyed look. When I told her that I didn't like how they were coming out and for her to re do them she told me that they couldn't be changed. In the end I was stuck with an $80 bill for the horrible work that had been done. I was so unhappy that on the day of my wedding I went to another salon where they kindly redid my nails and made them look beautiful. Never again will I visit this place, I came here to relax before my wedding but all that they did was add a ton more...
