Edit 4/8/25 So after my first experience, the owner reached out to me to apologize for the too salty wings. Apparently the supplier made a mistake with the brine. He refunded me the cost of wings and also gave me a 30% coupon.
Well today i went back and got the original Thai wings and drunken noodles med spice. It was AMAZING. The wings had a crispy outer layer with a thin coat of their fish sauce glaze. The fried shallots and cilantro added a nice texture as well.
Drunken noodles are also very good. Nice spice and lots of veggies.
Really appreciate the kindness and communication of the husband and wife owners. They went above and beyond to make things right. Please go support them ASAP Old review: Got the Thai Basil wings. They were extremely salty. Just eating one wing made me wanna drink a ton of water. I know they're new but please it's almost inedible how salty it was. The $1.50 (very small cup btw) sweet chili sauce was also more salty than sweet so it didn't help.
Also, this is a matter of preference, but i prefer my wings to be crispy if there is a lot of sauce on it. These were just soft.
Pad thai was ok. Kinda lacking the tang of tamarind sauce. Just very mediocre flavor.
Thai ice tea was good....
Read moreNice small place. More for takeout than dine-in but we were fine with that. We ordered the drunken noodles with chicken + pineapple fried-rice with shrimp and could hear it being cooked in the back so know it was freshly made and came out promptly, so good service. They pack a lot of food into the containers. The reason for 4/5 stars was that although the taste was really good, there wasn't a lot of chicken in the drunken noodles for the money. Also, disappointed that it was canned pineapple vs. fresh with the fried rice. Most other Thai places use fresh. The shrimp was deveined, which was great, but only boiled and placed on top, so bland vs. seasoned and cooked with the fried-rice like other places do. May come back after trying others in the area. Overall a good experience.
Update 6/15/2025: Restaurant replied to my above review on Yelp with a very generic, unapologetic, canned response which sounded like it was written by an AI, unlike other replies I saw where they stated what they’d do to improve. We’ve tried other Thai places since going here and probably won’t be back unless they improve on what we previously wrote. I’ve downgraded the stars on the food and overall score...
Read moreSince its new opening, super excited to try out Thai go to. Ordered Thai ice tea, beef pad see ew, chicken drunken noodles, pork ka-pow, green curry and curry puff. The pad see ew doesn’t taste good at all. The whole flavor has a little bitterness, might be cooking the Chinese broccoli for too long..The carrots are too hard to bite and the beef has a weird taste like you cook meat with defrosting. Pork ka-pow seasoning is good, but the pork itself also has a defrost taste. Eating with the seasoning can cover the pork taste. Green curry is watery but out of expected, it still has good balance of flavor, we like it a lot to mixed up with lots of rice. However, the eggplants inside aren’t soft enough. Chicken Drunken noodles tastes good, we like it a lot. We also like the curry puff and thai tea a lot, it’s not over sweetened for Thai ice tea. Personally feel might be one of the best thai tea around Rockville thai restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend ordering pad see ew and meat other...
