Benton Square Salon & Spa — Attraction in Rolla

I️ had high hopes for Benton Square Salon & Spa, but my experience was extremely disappointing. It started with a pedicure appointment where the nail artist displayed a terrible attitude, almost as if I️ was inconveniencing her. She seemed unhappy and made me feel uncomfortable for not wanting extra services, almost as if my business wasn't worth her time. What was most appalling was when she audibly told the receptionist, in front of me as I️ was trying to book a hair appointment, that I was 'on a budget' simply because I opted for a basic pedicure, when no one asked. This was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and frankly, felt discriminatory.

When I️ booked my hair appointment I️ asked if there were any stylists that specialized in curly cuts. I️ was told yes, and hoping the hair service would be better I️ booked an appointment. Unfortunately, while she was super sweet, the stylist was clearly inexperienced with curly hair. She dry brushed my hair with a thin comb, causing significant damage, and the cut and styling were poorly executed. I left the salon with a terrible hairstyle and damaged hair. Attached is a picture of how my hair looked after my appointment. I️ wish they would have been honest about having someone with curly hair experience, or maybe they booked me with her because the nail technician said I️ was “on a budget”.

I would caution anyone with curly hair, and especially people of color, to avoid this salon. The nail technician's attitude, combined with the lack of expertise in curly hair, was shocking and left me feeling embarrassed and deeply dissatisfied. Save your money and your hair – go...

Today my wife son and daughter got their hair cut, my wife after having her hair cut 5 inches shorter than she told girl to cut was told this was the first time she cut hair. My son went from having beautiful long sirfer type hair to looking like he was butchered by an idian tring to scalp him. My daughter lucked out and her hair got done correctly although was much more expensive than the same hair cut cost at other places. My wife cried while there they did not refund money they instead gave her 2 glasses of wine to calm her down i am extremely pissed off. I want my money back and will never return any of my family back to that place. I am most upset about my sons hair. Litterally it went from looking like a young surfer hair cut to looking like his sister or brother got ahold of a pair of scissors to it. My wife had hair to middle of her back and wanted brought up to middle of her shoulders and is now barely touching her shoulders she can not even get it into a pony tail to make look normal she has to put into a bun. I feel that as a business they should not send someone who has never cut hair to cut hair without having fully trained and had someone standing there watching making damn sure she was doing all of it correctly. When she was finnally done the guy who usually does a good job named jacob couldnt even fix it because how short she had already made it. Needless to say i am so pissed off im going in myself to get my money back and throw one...

Unfortunately, I did not have pleasing experiences with Benton square.

May 2023: I had an appointment for eyebrow waxing and I ended up with wounded eye lid on both eyes. It took over a month to heal and I was lucky that I didn’t end up with a life lasting scar. At the time I was leaving Rolla for summer so I didn’t have the time to go back and complain. However, I believe this is not acceptable and should never happen! Any forms of apologies or compensations could not help if I ended up with long lasting scar. I had eyebrow waxing twice before at their salon but this was my first and only experience with Adriana.

Dec 2023: I decided to give the salon another chance and visited there for nail service. I had an appointment with Amber for nail gel and I ended up with extremely uneven nails. (Photo attached) I’ve been wearing nail gel for 10 years. This was my second nail appointment at Benton Square and it was my most dissatisfying nail experience ever. I expressed my dissatisfaction but it was near the closing time and I was already tired after about 1.5 hours. Instead of complaint I decided to stop going to this salon. My Christmas nails were ruined and it didn’t worth the headache to just get a refund.

I’ve been considering some hair cut and color services but I can’t trust them.

This is sad and I’m disappointed since there are not many options...
