Possibly the best restaurant in Rolla.
Décor 5 Stars: This place is gorgeous; low lighting, tinted windows, soft music, and a very modern interior. Everything looks clean and neat. You have the smell of delicious food coming from the kitchen but it’s not overpowering. There isn’t a lot of space in the restaurant but that doesn’t hurt it. It makes you feel almost intimate in a way. This is definitely a great restaurant for couples. The tables are a little small but again, you get a sense of closeness to the one you are with. Chairs and booths are comfortable, and they have very clean and elegant restrooms.
Food 5 Stars: The food is amazing. We always try to go there as often as possible, and we’ve tried most of the menu. There have been things that weren’t to our taste but even then, we could tell how well it was cooked and prepared. If you want my suggestion every once and awhile, they will have nachos as special item. TRY THEM, they are some of the best nacho’s I’ve ever had. For a main you can’t go wrong with the shrimp n’ grits. I wasn’t a big fan of grits until I had them from this place. The problem is that after you have something you crave, when you get there, you don’t want to experiment with their other dishes.
One thing that I must disclose is this is possibly one of the most expensive if not THE most expensive place in Rolla, MO. After tasting their food, I have to say it’s a bargain. They are generous with the portions, and everything is cooked excellently. It’s rich, beautifully plated and addictive. They also have a large drink menu as well that they really pairs well with the food. Those too are expensive but also very good. One of my favorites is the Moscow Mule.
Service 5 Stars: The service is outstanding, the waiters/waitresses seem almost professionally trained. They are there when you want them and gone when you are having a conversation. It’s almost as if they can sense when you need them. Unlike most restaurants, when they get swamped the service does not suffer. If anything, they seem to thrive off it. Whether empty or full you will get excellent service every single time. This is a longer dining experience. My GF and I tend to be in there for about 45 minutes to 1 ½ hours. You never feel neglected though. They are always checking with you and seem to pace out the food correctly. It just gives you more time to talk to the person you brought with you.
Final Note: I think this is probably my favorite restaurant in Rolla and I highly recommend it to anybody curious. You WILL spend some money here but they’ve more than earned it. Beware, because of the quality of the food, service, and décor; if you are planning any holiday dining or anniversary, try to set up a reservation. It can sometimes be hard to just swing in for a bite with the small size of the restaurant. On a better note I believe they are building a whole new place for themselves with more room to accommodate more people. I look forward to...
Read moreLet me just start with my back ground, I come from a place where food reins supreme so when I see a place that has potential but fails to see it in itself makes me sad. But when a shop lies to its patrons in way of menu writing, false reviews, poor management, execution, service and basic professional skills and training I get really upset. So many have paved the way to live an amazing restaurant life with respect to food in regards to its origin and the journey it took to give a chef the opportunity to present it in a way never to be forgotten by their guests. Too many claim that way of life but have never and will never try to walk it this place being one of them. If I could give a no star rating this place would recipient. As I waited for the doors to open I watched from my parked vehicle two of the cooks take shots at the bar so already I'm super excited to see what comes out of the "scratch kitchen". Food was bland and prepared with no passion and for the amount of time it took to see each course you would think the opposite. All the proteins were pre-cut, previously frozen and old tasting and to to add insult to injury I had asked my server if it had been frozen, she politely explained she was instructed to say fresh. Normally I would tag this as a he said she said, but I could clearly hear the owner insisting never to say frozen. Crab dip had no crab meat apparent not sure how to elaborate on something so simple. Found it odd that they offer USDA PRIME on half the steaks but didn't splurge on all and how are they to offer prime grade beef to the customer at the same price it cost the establishment to purchase unprocessed? But I suppose owning two subways makes you more knowledgeable and I have a lot...

This intimate setting is great date night option with a wide selection of delicious food and drinks... The crab dip was very good and I love crab, so for this area it was a decent crab dip option... Also the bread pieces had a sweet seasoning that added to the flavors...The romaine wedge ceasar salad, which is topped with their very own house Ceasar dressing was very good... I decided to try the Y3 California north coast Cabernet per the suggestion of my waitress and it ended up being a surprisingly great choice, this dry red wine is very rich with flavors, I will definitely try again... Both the mahi and the pasta were delicious however I have to say I prefered the mahi mahi...the goat cheese potatoes were soooo delicious, I have never really eaten goat cheese but it added a creamy aspect to the potatoes which I thoroughly enjoyed....maybe I didn't pay close attention to the menu description however with the shrimp carbonara, I was under the impression that it was topped with a red sauce, turned out to a cream sauce but it was still good....overall thoroughly enjoyed my experience however the portions are smaller than I expected but the quality of the food and drinks is worth the visit!
