We arrived at the Rock 'n River waterpark with prepaid tickets and had to wait in a long line because the park was at capacity. We waited quite a while for other families to leave so we could be allowed in. It was fun up until someone pooped in the kiddie pool, which made the lifeguards blow the whistle, causing all of the guests to get out of the water. They brought over a long-handled net, which broke as soon as the lifeguard put it in the water, causing him to have to get in the water with the broken net to catch the poop. This is the second time we have visited and guests were told to get out because of poop in the kiddie pool.
One of the lifeguards also told my special needs daughter, who has sensory issues, to take off her scuba diving-style mask that covers her face so she doesn't get water in her eyes, nose, or mouth. We were very upset and angry because other water parks have no issues with the mask. Price-wise, it's affordable for what they currently offer, and they are expanding the park which will be finished in summer 2026. The park is clean other than gross issues in the pool but that is no fault of the park. That's either a failed swim diaper, an unpotty-trained child, or a neglectful parent not checking the diaper often enough before taking the child in the water. Staff did seem to be very attentive to trash cans being emptied when full and cleaning areas after guests leave the rentals. Lifeguards did a great job watching their areas and making sure guests were safe in and around the pool areas. They told the children who were running to stop and walk. I honestly don't know if I would visit again because after the lifeguard asked my daughter to remove the mask and the poop incidents in the pool we have visited other waterparks in the area and had a much better experience. We only made this visit because a family member chose to celebrate her birthday at this...
Read moreMy family and I had a horrible experience. We paid around $50 and barely got to swim for an hour before they pulled everyone out due to thunder. After three hours my three little ones were done as the temperature outside was over 100 degrees and the weather conditions didn’t look like they were getting any better. I went to the management office to request a rainy day pass just to be declined as the supervisor that was not on site had put in strict orders not to give out any rain passes or refunds. I requested the number that she may be reached which was also declined as the only number that she may be reached is her cell phone and they can’t give that out. They just stated that the storm is set to pass and that they were strictly ordered to not give any rain passes or refunds. After an hour the whole park was lined up at the management office and they were still declining rain passes and refunds. My daughters were getting heat exhaustion so we had to eventually leave without any reimbursement or passes.
My opinion of this water park has completely changed now. We’ve been their many times before and had a pleasant time, however I’ve never seen how they handle customer service needs in the past until now and the best way I could describe it was greedy and disgusting. It is one thing not to give out refunds so you can keep the revenue but to not give out simple rain passes so that people can bring their families back and actually enjoy the money they just spent is absolutely absurd.
To keep people out of the pools for one to three hours is one thing but when you see it is going over four hours and weather conditions are just getting worse it just becomes immoral to decline paying customers recourse especially if all they are asking for is to just come back on...
Read moreAt some point every establishment should have a limit of the number of people they let in. We went on a Sunday evening and found the place too crowded to move, swim, or do anything. The "lazy river" was packed with kids that had taken every single float and were dragging them around even when they weren't using them, so that was a complete waste. There is absolutely nothing for adults to do, which isn't a big deal if they didn't charge more for adult admission. If you have nothing for us to do you should not be charging us because it is a kiddie pool. If this place would limit the number of people admitted it might be nice for small kids up to about 13 because of the slides. If you have real swimmers you want to entertain, you are absolutely wasting your time. Don't expect them to regulate the number of people coming in. They were perfectly fine with it being so over-crowded you can't do anything without running into someone, and the life guard was incredibly rude when I tried to walk my kid up the stairs of the kiddie slide. She kept telling me that it was not for adults. I told her I was just walking my kid up because the water jets were spraying in his face and were too strong for him, and she told me he should not be on it then. He's five and it is a tiny little play-set. The water jets were just poorly calibrated. This is what I paid to get my kid in, to play on, and the water jets were pushing him backward because they were too strong. Besides, who ever heard of not letting a parent walk your kid up some steps?! When I was a kid we played on water playgrounds all the time safely, that were much bigger than that, without having some teenager hovering around telling us how to properly do it. Seriously, what has happened to summer fun in...
