It honestly was nowhere near worth the price. (Bought our tickets online and it came out to $60 for 1 car!) The traffic and line to get in was horrendous and took an eternity. (The radio station you're supposed to sync to didn't work either.) Once you're to the lights part, it is super fast to get through it and just the few same designs repeated everywhere. My son wanted to switch it up from our local Nature in Lights that we went to a few years back and wanted to try The Light Park out, but this place wound up bumming us out so much and our whole family said that this lackluster experience made us miss our local place and regret not choosing it instead. We wound up going to our local spot a few days later to get the taste of this experience out of our mouths. Lol $20, took us 45 minutes to get through it and every light display was different! If you have literally no other options for Christmas lights displays and have lots of money and time to burn, you may find this worth it for very young kids. For most people, I would imagine that any other option you have around you would be more ideal. Even just driving through your local neighborhoods. Personally, this place doesn't remotely compare to our local spot and I regret the time and money wasted. Oh well. The only way to find out was...
Read moreTook my kids here for the first time and was overall very impressed by the experience.
We normally do Peppermint Parkway at COTA every year and added The Light Park - Round Rock this year. We visited around 6:30pm on a Saturday and had the dasher passes which allowed us to skip the main line so I can speak for how long the main line was. The dasher pass line was quick, the employees were friendly, and we got into the park quickly.
The park itself was beautiful with plenty of variety and little things for the kids to pick out, like the ornaments that sing to the music. As far as the music, definitely tune into the AM radio station they share with you.
The park itself is fairly long, took us over 30 minutes, and had tons of variety.
The tickets are on the expensive side and the extra goodies (light up glasses, drink cups, glow sticks) are extremely overpriced. Despite the costs, my kids really enjoyed the entire experience and, in my opinion, the high cost was worth it to see their smiles and hearing them talk about the experience over a week later.
I definitely recommend a visit here for any family looking for a fun family Christmas experience through...
Read moreSeemed like a pretty cool deal… so I turned my car around with my kids and got in what appeared to be a very short line. Once you get into the gate, you find out that the line is about 3/4-1 mile long of bumper to bumper traffic with no way out. Not such a big deal for such a cool free light show. But wait! After waiting an hour in the line, I arrived at a tent at the end of the line. I’m thinking “Oh cool! They sell snacks and stuff, I’ll get some things for the kids.” Once at the front of the line, I was informed it was $68.00 to get in. There was absolutely no signage, and nobody at the entrance of the line letting anybody know anything about what you are about to get into. I’m sure it’s a great show, but I felt taken advantage of. The line they make you sit through (with no emergency exits) and lack of signage made this feel like a complete trap. We did not pay the money for entry, and were told we had to wait until the car behind us finished paying before they would even let us through to exit. Another 5 minutes of my family having to wait in the car to get out of this trap. Know what your getting into before you get in line....
