Love this little park. They don’t take reservations, it’s first come, first serve. This isn’t the first park we’ve been to that’s like this and we honestly don’t mind. If you can’t find a spot, boondock overnight and see if someone leaves the next morning. This is our second stay here in the past year and both times there was a spot open even though we came late. People are always coming and going so getting a spot isn’t that hard, especially in the middle of the week. Holidays are usually filled so coming in the middle of the week before the weekend starts is usually a better option.
The amenities aren’t that great but it’s one of the lowest prices in the Austin area. There isn’t a bathhouse and the sites are close together. Cell coverage is iffy for TMobile. There isn’t Wi-Fi either. There is a laundry room. $2 wash and free to dry. The sites aren’t shaded but there is lots of green grass and mature trees around other areas of the park with picnic tables. My kids especially love visiting the farms animals.
This campground is not for your typical camping trip. It is a great place if you are using an RV to roadtrip across Texas and need a safe place to stay at night while touring Austin during the day.
I’m not sure what the complaints about the office staff are about. Randy has always been great. The office is closed on Sundays and Tuesdays.
If most of this doesn’t bother you, it may be a great campground for you. If it does and you don’t have a small budget, you may be better off going somewhere else.
We like the price, the close proximity to everything, dining, parks, shopping and nightlife. This park works for us and we were happy here during both...
Read moreThey never answer the phone @ the "Old Settlers Association". Not sure exactly who or what is associated with this "association", but its pretty apparent community outreach & customer service are not their thing - as though they have an answering machine where you can leave a message, they will NOT return calls if you are interested in finding out more information about their facilities & services. Pretty sad. I feel sorry for Williamson County & Round Rock residents who's tax dollars help...
Read moreReview for annual pumpkin patch: This is a small but cute pumpkin patch. Had a few food options, jump house, wagon train and a good choice of pumpkins. One pumpkin cost us about $20 (pricey). Also the entrance fee was definitely on the high side when compared to the size and actives available verse other pumpkin patches. Would not recommend for children older than 6-7 yrs old (that might even be on...
