For decades outdoor water activities in Michigan have closed after Labor Day. Seems a shame that RO hasn't heard that our climate is warming and summer temperatures now last longer while winters are shorter. The USDA has changed their garden zone, aka growing season maps accordingly. RO should keep the splash pad open, for a couple more weekends at least. If they don't, at least open the area so people can sit at the tables under the shade canopies.
On hot days this park is fairly useless because there's almost no place to sit in the shade if the pavilion is in use. It will take many years for the new trees along the walking path to grow to establish a shady canopy. In the meantime, the city could erect shade cover roofs of fabric mesh or something to cover a few benches even if it has to go...
Read moreThis is an great spot to relax and enjoy summer days! It’s well-maintained and packed with features. There is a large pavilion covering the eating area and very clean bathrooms. The playscape has a nice green turf that is friendly to kids of all ages. My son really likes “spider web” play structures so he was loving it! The main attraction is the splash pad completely with a huge bucket dump that sends the kids screaming every time. Great parking, great location , you should definitely check out...

She (,us as well) had a great time not inly with her playing on the playgrounds, but also walking along the paths and seeing the turtles and ducks and geese and birds ( and how nice it is that so much is left unmoved so can see the normal vegetation and flowers - even if some are viewed...
