As a vendor working with a client to provide decor, our experience with this venue was less than stellar.
Our team arrived late (totally own that). Once they were there, they were yelled at by the owners and told that we must be a $100 fee for being late (which I was happy to accommodate). However, they would not allow my staff to take down OUR ITEMS until this had been paid. My team does not walk around with $100 in their pockets .... this could have been handled on Monday - business owner to business owner.
As luck would have it, and to make matters even worse, our driver also ran into their fence post and broke it. Ok.... no big deal, we have insurance and stuff happens. The woman who ran the venue DEMANDED that my employee pay $500 for the fence, $100 for the late fee and a $24.00 processing fee and refused to allow them to pick up our items until this has been paid. She then proceeded to take my employees PERSONAL credit card and charge it $624!
Once my employee was able to reach me I spoke to the woman and ensured that she credited my employee's credit card (after I picked my jaw up off the floor in shock that she charged it in the first place!!!). I then asked her where this random $500 number for the fence post came from and then informed her that we would be happy to pay for the broken fence post once I had photographs, and ESTIMATEs from reputable companies who would be fixing it. This is what insurance would require.
A gentleman, who was much more reasonable that she was, got on the phone with me and told me he felt badly that my employee was so upset and he would not charge us for the fence post. Mind you, they had already charged her the $624 and credited it back and then charged me the $100 late fee. He then took her around and showed her other items he had run over or broken and told her not to worry about it.
I am extremely upset that she took my employees card and CHARGED IT to begin with. This has to be the most unprofessional thing I have ever as a business owner encountered. As a business we have insurance precisely for moments like this - and why as another business owner you would place that burden on an employee is beyond me... to demand that an employee make immediate restitution.... who does this?! My staff member was already shaken that they were late and that they hit the post - then to be bullied to hand over her personal credit card.
My advice to them - handle business like a business professional and not some mom and pop. This is not the wild west and we don't need to hold someone's horse hostage until they...
Read moreIt is a nice setting and great facility but we had a very bad experience with the owner. She is not a people person at all. Very rude and let's you know this is her property and things are done her way or not at all. Very unaccommodating and self centered. Will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Customer service is not in her interest at all. Would not work with us at all and there were several of the other guests who said the same. Horrible experience. Find another venue if you can. Amendment here after her reply back. This lady is a physcopath. 1st of all the dog was in the car for only a few minutes while we unloaded. My wife had to drive our dog back home and miss part of the event. We would never leave our dog in a hot car. We do rescue dog fostering. We never saw a little girl there so she made that up and she told several people they drove too fast down her short gravel road where you could not have been speeding. Don't listen to me though. Go there and see for yourself how this no people person lady will treat you. It sucked bad. I have never written a bad review in my whole life. I am a PR manager and believe me she is not. Sorry Miss Glenmark Farms. This lady is making up things to cover for her unpofessionism. I am done with her stupidity and lack of people skills. Tread at your own risk. She is a liar. The other people there asked us to bring our dog. He was at the last event and said bring him again. He is a service dog that we take to nursing homes and they love him. He is very well trained...
