New Town Amphitheaterpj — Attraction in Saint Charles

We saw the Vote for Pedro band on 07/03/17. The band was most excellent! Top-notch musicians, great energy, very engaging- kudos to whomever booked them. However, the venue's speaker/sound equipment quality was severely lacking. The sound engineer, Tim Eveker, was great though. He did the best with what he had. (I have seen him before over the years, including places such as Peabody Opera House, mixing national touring acts.)

The venue itself was nice. Not so much a real "venue", but more of a tented stage plopped down in the middle of the neighborhood park in New Town- a charming place that gives off a very "Stars Hollow"/Gilmore Girls kind of vibe. Close parking. Bring your own chair/blanket. Close concessions. Close restrooms. Family friendly. Very clean. (Pick up after yourselves, ya filthy animals! You know...

New Town Amphitheater in grass. Very well maintained grass, great for blankets a little odd for chairs.

Plenty of vendors in walking distance. The market is across the street. A few restrooms near but they are not AC!

Plenty of parking but beware of locals and their golf carts. Roads are narrow which can be a pain/stress. Getting to and leaving is another challenge. Once here, it was pleasant.

It's a lot of fun to see a variety of bands and shows at this amphitheatre! Family friendly atmosphere, good treats like snow cones, ice cream, pretzels and yummy tacos nearby... and if you need to purchase beverages or snacks for the evening, you can just run over to Marsala's to get your goodies!
