Mark Twain Hobby Center — Attraction in Saint Charles

So i purchased a rally car from the big foot event last week. Played with the car for a day an started having issues. So I drive almost 2 hours to the store with the car to see if I can get some help told the guy the issue he told me what the issue is most likely so I buy the part for 8 bucks no problem. But didn't think I got much help. So buy the part drove back home started fixing it took my time doubled an even triple check everything to make sure it was done right. Turned it on an boom still the same issue. Calk the shop an a kid or younger guy answer I explain to him what happen the entire process. An no help at all I asked to talk to the guy that helped me wouldn't let me talk to the guy. The kid or younger guy acted like he has no clue what to do or anything. Then stated I can bring the car for service an that it will be 45 bucks an hour to look at it or fix it . So like anywhere else who knows how long it would take to fix. He said for sure I will get charged an hour no matter what. So I keep talkn an this kid or guy literally does not know much or something. I am new to this hobbies an already I am thinking about not even getting into this hobbies just but the little issue I am having. So my thoughts is do they know what they are doing or talking about or do they sell junk removal cars ? At this point I am so confused about all over it. For the price these things cost you would think people would be more helpful or know what they are talking about. So I spent a couple hundred just to play with it for maybe a day an now I can't even do nothing with it. How do I know it will be fixed or how do I know how long it would take to be serviced. I'm tryn to look at it from both sides but man it dont 3ven make sence at all an I have a rc car an im just looking at it. An again for the price these things cost you would think since they work there they would have some kind of information on there products. So do they sell junk removal cars an trucks ? An clearly this kid had no idea what to say or even what he is talking about at all. An out of our conversation he couldn't answer not one question. So that tells me personally that this is a money pit . I don't have any issue spending the money but if I am why can't I get some help with the issues im having..one day an I been looking at it...

Such a shame. About two weeks ago we came in to inquire about buying 6 Rustlers (Brushed), they were priced at $289 a piece. The older gentleman told us these would probably go on sale soon. We thought that was great and appreciated him telling us. This past week I received a coupon in my email for 20% off our purchase. So I told my husband and son we would go on Saturday, December 1st and if they aren't on sale yet, no big deal, we can use the 20% off coupon. Saturday, December 1st came, we drove over (from Illinois), get there and there are a few kids working behind the counter now. We ask what the price of the Rustlers (brushed) were and if they were on sale, and he stated they were $319. I was so shocked. I said, well we were just here two weeks ago and were told these were $289 and may go on sale soon. He really didn't care what I had to say and just told me they have always been this price. I said "Are you sure you all didn't mark prices up since you have the 20% coupon going for this weekend?" He stated again that this has always been the price. We checked two more vehicles that my husband and son wanted (XMaxx and the one my son wanted), only to find that yes, those were both raised in price as well! So, basically the sale never took place and the 20% off coupon was a hoax as well, since they raised their prices. I called North Central Hobbies in Overland, they are ecstatic to have our business, they are even coming down to $279 on the Rustlers! I've spent over 4900 dollars within 1 month an a half.......I pay for everything, but this dude Derran is a complete jerk......the smallest things he wants a service ticket on like simply plugging my xo1 up to the the computer an change the direction on my castle motor....was also to busy to bind up arrma cars to the spektrum rugged remote I bought from them and actually said if I bought the remote from them they would do it....of course when I got down their to buy the remote the story changed.....I really should have looked at the signs 2xmaxxes..2xo1s..5arrmas n a rugged dc5 ago.....now they won't get another dime..or penny from me ever again.....derran is trash. Then most of the rc counter guys don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. It's all good tho....they make Schaefer an Checkedflag look excellent , which Steve At checkard Flag really knows what he's doing and if your spending money he has not 1 problem with helping u with a software issue or binding , the twins at Schaefers are good too... The trains I stopped buying long time ago....because they ridiculously priced. Thst black Bachmann amtrak they have had for over a yr is 351.00. That's crazy when u can actually get that locomotive for 289 an 299. This place is a rip off . They so adamant about taking your parts to the counter thinking everyone is gonna steal is stupid as well. I make over a hundred grand a yr......trust me I don't need to steal anything.....an also will never buy even paint from this...
