My husband and I used to love coming here.

When I was pregnant I loved walking around the park as a way to stay fit.

Our baby is now old enough that we wanted to introduce him to the water in a safe neighborhood in a lovely park.

We were very disappointed to find we now have to pay to come here even though we've been going there for years.

The man at the gate was very smug, like he was better than us and almost seemed excited to tell us about the fees. Fees themselves aren't a problem, but 5 dollars PER PERSON is insane. Charge by the carload. You are discouraging big families with lots of wonderful children from playing at the part because it can cost us up to 50 bucks.

We left feeling like that man saw us as peasants who are not worthy to rub shoulders with him. We are a proud middle class family.

So we tried looking for other parks on the water nearby... but all were the same. I guess we're just not "high class" enough for my baby to see the water in the county he was raised in.

Even though we have the money to come back with our family, we likely won't.

Not with the way we were treated at the gate, nor the way the city of St. Clair Shores treats other Macomb...

I visited Blossom Health Park a couple weeks ago for the first time. I enjoyed my time spent there greatly. I walked around the front of the park enjoying the nice pathway that winded around the Man-made Pond that sat in the center. I also enjoyed the main park area; the grounds were well kept. And the things such as the playground equipment and garbage cans, as well as other regular park necessities were placed methodically. Not looking out of place or an eye-sore while walking around enjoying the park. The main selling point for me was the dock leading out to St. Clair Lake. It was one of the most calming and fulfilling spots I've ever ventured, with an outlook onto a lake. It was a wide and vibrant site looking out to the water. My only suggestion would be more maintenance when it comes to bird excrement along the wooden dock. I know it's inevitable, but still the amount I had to witness and avoid was unacceptable. Other than that, I had no issues with this park and highly suggest it for the beautiful site over...

Blossom Heath used to be my go-to fishing spot. I could have my kids play in the park, and my wife relax in the shade while I cast a line in the water.

I already paid for a fishing license. I already pay property Taxes to Macomb County. Why am I paying $5 (per person) to go and enjoy the same place I visited and fished at for years?

There was nothing more angering than pulling up with my wife and child only to to be told I can't park by the pier anymore, and I can't even go inside the park without paying extra fees.

How is this going to effect people with big families? If you have 5 kids that's $25 for a day at the park and the water. It's practically unheard of. Macomb county isn't a gated community, and St.Clair Shores is discriminating against non-residents who pay monthly property taxes.

Frankly,...

Always really nice. Lots of fishers along the pier. There's a nice play structure for the kids. In the summer time they have nice bathrooms inside the building by the lake. They offer rentable pavilion, as well as plenty of picnic tables and benches in both the park and pier. Update 2025: We visited for the AquaFreeze festival in January. It was on the smaller side when comparing it to winter-events at the Detroit Zoo, and took about 10 minutes to walk around the sculptures section. However there were food carts, music, and a beer tent that could have allowed for some adults to stay much longer if you were looking for live music. The fire pit made of ice was very cool to watch.

Peaceful Escape with Beautiful Views 🌿🌊 Blossom Heath Park in St. Clair Shores is such a calming and peaceful place to visit. The landscaping is beautifully maintained, and the quiet atmosphere makes it perfect for relaxing or enjoying a peaceful walk. The view of the lake is absolutely stunning—truly a hidden gem. It’s also very accessible for people from nearby cities with just a $5 entrance fee. A wonderful spot to unwind and connect with nature, in addition to the sunset 🌇 it's just a piece of art 🎨 . Highly recommend!

Great place and getting better every year, the high water makes some areas very slippery but the new concession building is looking very state of the art. next year hopefully things will get back to normal. Saw a lot of people fishing on the pier, no one caught anything while I watched but looked fun. I didn't give it 5 stars because of all the construction..
