This is our go to spot for good Chinese food, however they did us and a lot of people dirty tonight. I called in an order and was told 30 minutes, which is long for them, but it’s Christmas Eve and they were slammed to be expected. I actually got there at about 50 minutes after my order. I was thinking dang it now it’s not going to be hot.
I walk in to find a crowd of about 20 people all waiting for their carry out. No big deal, I love this place and they are slammed. We’re all waiting around, me and a couple other guys, who are waiting for their order are helping newcomers navigate the chaos. We’re actually cheering when someone gets their order lol.
All of us waiting on our order checked in multiple times and was told a couple minutes, 15 minutes and so on. Granted it’s been like an hour since most have ordered. There was someone there that ordered an hour and a half ago.
Either way, we’re all in for the long haul because we like the place. In comes a girl named Jessie. She didn’t know what to do because of the crowd. So I asked her what she was here for. She just wanted to place an order, so I helped her do that.
Meanwhile we’re all still waiting. There was like two or three people I saw get their orders from the crowd, and we cheered for them. Now, I’ve already been waiting an extra 45 minutes. Then they call out Jessie. That’s right, the girl who walked in and placed her order after we have all been waiting, got her order before any of us.
We were all there in solidarity waiting patiently for an hour after our orders were placed because we like the place and want to support it. To then be surpassed by a new order at the counter.
Once that happened, I just walked away. People coming in with new orders were getting their orders before the people who have been waiting for over an hour.
Unfortunately, my family will not be returning to this place. I cannot condone that kind of...
Read moreI ordered a carryout today, I remember visiting this place as a kid with my grandmother and haven’t been here since I moved to the area. First, I asked for pepper chicken and I asked if it was fried. Every time I’ve ordered it elsewhere it’s been fried like sweet & sour etc. but I just wanted to make sure as there is no description on the carryout menu. I also asked for fried rice with my dinner order.
The total came to $17 and some change. I get home after long cold day at work, only to find it’s not fried, they didn’t give me an egg roll and the fried rice was simply awful - no egg or veggies just dark brown. The pepper chicken was tasteless, I think they just sautéed it in soy sauce and called it a day. So disappointed!! I called and let her know they forgot my egg roll and she said the large dinner doesn’t come with it. What? Chinese dinner for $17 that doesn’t come with an egg roll?
Also that’s not what their menu says either. The lady was nice and offered to give me an egg roll if I came back. The thought of fighting my way through the small parking lot in the cold for an egg roll just seemed not worth it. The portion was very small compared to other places I’ve tried in the area since I moved here, way overpriced and tasteless. Sorry but I won’t be back again. It really takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but my dinner was terrible and I have an aftertaste of...
Read moreFirst time visit based on suggestion from my sister. On 11-12-23, I ordered shrimp egg food young 14.95 and an appetizer, tempura shrimp, 7.95. Later in the day I had the tempura shrimp which tasted a little undercooked. Later that evening, I opened the container and saw something that looked liked two donuts, brown substance that was suppose to be rice. I tried the first shrimp egg foo young donut with a little rice and it was tasteless. I threw out the first patty and saved the remainder so I could return it to Golden Chopsticks on 11-14-23 since they are closed on Mondays. I returned the food on 11-14-23 to a female employee. I explained my dissatisfaction with the shrimp egg foo young dish. explaining that I have never seen shrimp outside of the patty and she responded that is the way they cooked it. I replied that their shrimp egg foo young and rice was not tasty. I requested a refund. She took my receipt and claimed the receipt was voided but tried to keep it. I asked for the receipt and she returned it to me. I paid cash for the tempura shrimp but did not receive a receipt for it....
