I've been going here on and off for years. Today I decided I no longer wanted to roll the dice with my wine purchases, so I came back. I walked in upon Ray, and asked for some help. I presented to him the types of wine I liked drinking, the taste and feel I was looking for, and the price range. Ray led me to several recommendations, not all in the higher end of my price range either. He spoke a bit about the bottles he was pointing out, but also added that if I come in after 2:30, his brother, Ron, was much more knowledgeable, and could answer ANY wine related questions I had. There is a 10% discount on a case purchase, though I was only in the market for a couple of bottles. They also have many wines marked down 50%. Ray was patient, friendly, and a pleasure to meet. I believe I will frequent The Wine Dock more often in the future, and avoid the grocery aisles. Of course, this reading is based upon the fact I have yet to uncork the wine and taste it, but I am not overly concerned there. Also, if for some reason, I have been let astray, I am not averse to amending my comments here. Give the Wine Dock a try, if you...
Read moreWe moved the boat to St. Clair Shores this year and I popped into the Wine Dock to get some ice and booze - I grabbed a couple of sandwiches, a package of stuffed grape leaves and some cut up fruit. I was blown away with all the food I got - grape leaves are the best I've had, fruit was ripe and tasty and the sandwiches were generous and fairly priced. The employees were helpful and friendly, I've become a regular. I was disappointed that most employees and customers did not wear a mask. The day of the mask mandate I was pleasantly surprised to see all employees and customers wearing a mask - I stopped yesterday and the employee's either had no mask or it was under their chin - 2 out of 5 customers in the shop did not have a mask on. Not a big surprise considering St. Clair Shores folks have an issue with wearing a mask but it was a disappointment none the less. I will keep going to the Wine Dock and hope they don't get shut down for not following the...
Read moreThey are wonderful people! as friendly as could be. Made me feel like I've been coming there for years and it was my first time visiting. Brought my puppy Cimmerian in on the hot day and they welcomed him with treats and love. They were so kind they gave me boxes for my estate sale I was on my way to. The lovely attendant behind the counter even carried them to my car to help. I will most likely always stop in there when I'm in the area because of the impression they...
