Friday I took a small table to the UPS Customer Center on Hollywood Rd. to ship to Arkansas. The agent told me $65.77 but I had to box it.
Tuesday I took it to the UPS Store on St. Joseph Dr. to see what they would charge for packaging. “Dave” said basic ground UPS charges were $241.00 and he would charge $50.00 for packaging making the total about $290.00. I told him the $65.77 UPS quote and he insinuated I was lying and told me to go have them ship it.
I went back to the UPS Customer Center on Hollywood Rd. A different agent was working. I told him to add an inch to each measurement and 10 lbs to the weight to allow for packaging, the quote was still only $68. 88. If “Dave” at the UPS Store would have charged me $50 for packaging the bill would have been $118.88, NOT $290.00. None of the real UPS agents could figure how “Dave” could be trying to charge me $241.00. So I called “Dave” to confirm he quoted me regular ground rate and he said, “Absolutely.” and hung up.
If you want to continue getting ripped off by the people in the St. Joseph UPS Store that’s up to you, but keep in mind the real UPS agents at the UPS Customer Center Hollywood Rd. are friendly and helpful and will charge you the honest UPS rate.
Add: With that big of a discrepancy an honest proprietor would have double checked his numbers at the time instead of arrogantly saying, “let them ship it.” Makes you wonder how many people daily get overcharged because he “read the...
Read moreThe IRS is nicer and more efficient than these people. A rude, grumpy old man and a relatively nice old lady (wife?) run this place. I had a couple of items that needed to be sent out for warranty work, and the companies had sent me prepaid labels. My printer was broken, so naturally I came to the UPS store to get them printed and ship out my items. Well the nice lady that was doing her best to help me was having a hard time printing out the pages, so she called the old guy over. The whole time he muttered how he just didn't understand why "these people" couldn't print at home. After printing several messed up copies, they finally managed to get the right settings and printed the correct stuff out. Well after that fiasco, it was time to pay, and I handed her my card. And then they both got onto my case about how the card processing fee costs them too much and they asked if I had cash. When I said I didn't, she angrily said, "I guess I'll cover it myself". I then purchased a greeting card along with my box and copies to appease them. On top of all of that, they charged me for all the messed up copies they did! At this point, I didn't care. 30 minutes had passed to ship out two bloody packages, and I just wanted to leave and drown my sorrows in an ice cream cone. All in all, you couldn't pay me to come back here. I'd rather trade hearts with Charlie Sheen. Not metaphorically speaking, but like actually receive his over-taxed,...
Read moreI stopped by to drop off my package. Went in first to ask questions first since I had 5 heavy boxes to return. After waiting in line I discussed my return label with the person at the counter then told her I was going to go out and get my packages. They were so heavy I had to use a dolly to carry them in. Upon getting to the door with 2 of my 5 packages the door was locked. A guy let me in and I walked to counter with my boxes. My friend went back to get the other three and the lady told me my label was only for one box. I showed her the label before I brought the boxes in and she never said that. That’s why I went in earlier to show her the label. So I tell her I’ll grab the main box from the car and just mail back that one. She then proceeds to tell me sorry they are closed. I just carried all these heavy boxes in. And I entered before closing. Her and I assume to be her boss then argue with me telling me to leave and refusing me service. It was worst experience of customer service I’ve ever had. I’ve been to this store many times and it’s been nothing but friendly. Very...
