Where do I start? We had the voodoo jerk chicken and a 6 inch poor boy and also a order of beignet. The poor boy gave very sloppy not a lot of shrimp and saying that I have been to New Orleans numerous about a time because my family is from New Orleans. This is not giving Po boy not for real. Now this voodoo jerk chicken the chicken gave very much precooked already cut up and then season and marinated and what I guess you call jerk sauce I’m not sure, but being that I am Jamaican. It was not giving jerk I don’t know what the hell that was . I felt like I was eating a TV dinner . And as for those beignets I have never in my life had a beignet that had layers of pastry beignets are supposed to be airy crispy. They were cold. They were stiff and they were not made like normal real New Orleans beignets I could’ve got better . beignets at Cracker Barrel Also we’re ordering them from a restaurant they should be made to order drop Fresh not just sitting on the counter. They were absolutely horrible. My daughter took one bite and put it back into the container and threw it away. The restaurant was very quiet. There was no one in there. We didn’t smell anything cooking in the air, so I’m not sure if things were already pre-cooked or whatever the situation was I just know we won’t be back anytime soon. It’s definitely not giving creole New Orleans style food at all. Wish I would’ve took a picture of those damn beignets. I was so disappointed. Definitely a waste of $44

Nestled in the charming town of St. Joseph, Nola Roux offers a delightful taste of New Orleans cuisine with a fresh, local twist. As soon as you step inside, the warm ambiance, accented with subtle jazz music, transports you to the heart of the Big Easy. The menu is a vibrant mix of classic Cajun and Creole dishes, with standout options like the jambalaya and gumbo that are both rich and flavorful. The seafood is particularly impressive; the shrimp and grits are creamy and perfectly seasoned, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients. For appetizers, the fried green tomatoes with remoulade are a must-try, providing a crispy and tangy start to the meal. The service is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall inviting atmosphere. Dessert is a highlight, especially the beignets, which come dusted with powdered sugar and are best enjoyed hot. Overall, Nola Roux captures the spirit of New Orleans while embracing local influences, making it a standout dining experience in St. Joseph. Perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion, it’s a restaurant that should be on every food lover’s radar.

I ordered the Bourbon Beef, Seafood Gumbo, and Cornbread (~$20) with DoorDash. I found this place... "Meh". Let's break down each dish: Seafood Gumbo: 🍲 The Seafood Gumbo is the one I liked the most from the meal! It has flavor + spices. I found it's not fishy. Instead, it's quite calm with the seafood taste. Cornbread: 🍞 The cornbread tastes like... cornbread! Both have a cakey thickness & crumbly. The pieces of bread were just fine. Bourbon Beef: 🥘 I wanted to like this... The beef was a letdown. The beef does have flavor. It just arrived cold compared to the Gumbo. Plus, the vegetables taste + look similar to vegetables from a freezer aisle. 🙁 The beef dish really hurt the overall impression of the food. If they could use different vegetables - and ensure that the meat/rice arrives hot - that would be great. It would improve service for future customers. For now: I am less likely to re-order if I were to return in town. ✨ 3 stars | ⭐⭐⭐

Hi, I really like this place and visited the food truck, rather than the building. You deserve a pretty in-depth, positive review. So let's get started.

One of the most important qualities of anywhere that serves food is the kitchen itself. Is it clean, does it have the proper tools for the menu in the kitchen, are the ingredients properly stored? All of these questions get a resounding yes, from myself. You can easily see into the work place as this is a truck. Extremely clean, spotless even on the outside of the truck itself. This place is well maintained and it shows. I have nothing more to say about this, you don't need to have any worries about this place.

That said, the actual quality of the food when the above conditions are met, are what will really set you apart from the other places. I got Jambalaya, and the quality of the ingredients really show through. The sausage tastes high quality, no squishy, spongey fillers in the meat here. The chicken tasted equally fresh, the texture perfectly cooked, not even the slightest bit dry. The vegetables were very obviously not frozen, and were not uniform in shape and size, both factors varying wildly, which to me says they were not cut in an assembly line in a factory. Fresh ingredients, with a plentiful arrangement of spices in abundant quality, you're in for what tastes exactly like a home cooked meal from someone who knows what they're doing in the kitchen.

The staff themselves are friendly, and extremely helpful on helping you figure out what's best for your tastes. Even letting you try little samples if you're unfamiliar with the menu, or the establishment themselves. I can't complain about this side of things either. Genuinely nice people working here.

The prices can be a bit high, for the food. But it's extremely high quality, the portions are a good size, it's delicious, and for the fact that the truck comes around monthly? It's a nice treat to have when it's here. I look forward to eating from this place once again. I'd rate this place higher if I could....

Asked if I can be helped as I walked in first time and I said “Im looking to dine in?” Immediately the older lady at front says “you can go sit down but you have to come back up anyways to order” with the worst tone and attitude ever. To be spoken to in that manner all while pointing in my face is absolutely unacceptable! Do not bother with this place very rude staff and condescending staff with horrible un inviting attitudes. I walked right out ! Do not support people who treat people with no respect!

Pedro I hope you see this I came back and she was very nice and polite what a world of difference. The food was delicious everything was full of flavor. I had the shrimp etouffe and yes try it! The flavor is nothing like something you create at home it tastes like authentic creole southern food! I highly recommend. Thank you Pedro for addressing the issue I definitely have been wanting to try the food and walking in not knowing how I would be treated made me nervous but I am glad I gave it another shot! Again the food is amazing the owner definitely corrects the issues if any. Gracias Pedro. 💪🏼 raza x raza x eso regrese and I’m...
