Ax-Man Surplus Stores — Attraction in Saint Louis Park

It has taken three weeks to be able to get out to this location. Their hours are difficult for my schedule which is not their fault. But showing up approximately 10 minutes before they close to do a quick walk-through to see what this is like compared to the other two Axman locations we were met with disgruntled employees that didn't like the fact that myself and my partner showed up at that time and with 7 minutes to close time someone else walked in and they told them they're closing already. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right, maybe it doesn't matter but if the patron shows up and they're looking to find stuff to buy and I wasn't asking them to stay later but at least allow me the 10 minutes to browse and bring up to the counter what I could find within that 10 minutes. The interaction once I got up to the counter was indifferent and not welcoming. I will try to come at a better time where I can browse more thoroughly without the pressures of being kicked out of the store in a few minutes or in this case 7...

Ax-Man Surplus.... The affordable, entertaining, blend into any neighborhood or environment magical hybrid Wonder store. From vintage Airline dishes and legit war-era hardware to everyday tools and supplies to finish any project, this store knocks it out of the park. Hi-Tech, low-tech or what the heck? Recently I spotted up by the front registers not one but two intricate and almost impossible to find power tools made by Stryker, in this case a reciprocating-style small-format saw and a hydraulic drill. (Note: Stryker makes all kinds of tools that assist in the surgical procedures performed on humans). So anybody wondering how Ax-Man Surplus gets its street...

This place is absolutely awesome for all sorts of randoms and weird supplies! It is a must for anyone who enjoys hobbies or owns a home, as you never know what you'll find there, but you usually won't walk away without some great purchase of something you wouldn't have expected!

The only reason I gave four stars is because I've bought too much my last two visits, but my total has exceeded what I thought it would be. They type all purchases in, and upon looking at my receipt later, some things are rung up incorrectly. Ax-man is a wonderful store that I have happily shopped at my whole life(Thank you, Dad!), but just be careful to know your prices before...
