It is an absolute mess to order anything and god forbids if there is an error or mistake on your order. Their website servicer Chow Now doesn't even know they don't have a phone number. Their agents tell you that they make multiple calls and it goes to a voicemail but that is not even true given that this business doesn't have a phone line so go figure what is going on. I would not bother dealing with a bakery that is too good to take phone calls. This is the second time I wanted to give them business but definitely last time. There is no shortage of good bakeries in town so try someone who appreciates your business and has a customer first culture. UPDATE, read the response from the business below: Still no mention of why their direct servicer Chow Now tells you to call their phone number which doesn't exist. The owner/manager or whoever takes her/his time to sit there and responds to these reviews claim that they didn't have time to take phone calls because people were staying in lines and complaining! This is operations management 101! Are you seriously saying that was an issue? With the same logic, no other busy restaurant should take a call. Just think about that for a moment and you be the judge. Excuse after excuse. How about yourself taking phone calls? You apparently have enough time to write these long responses. This business needs to learn customers are always right and you do your best to make it right for them. Unfortunately, that is not the culture at this business as I had...
Read moreTheir donuts are beautiful and space is nice and clean. Staff was also friendly. Unfortunately that's where the positive review ends for me. I bought three different kinds of raised donuts, a savory scone, and curry filled pastry to share with two food enthusiasts. We were unanimously disappointed with every item I bought. The donuts were overwhelmingly sweet and lacked other flavor I was hoping for (blueberry pie, cinnamon sugar, chocolate sprinkle). The dough was dense, lacked the fluff you would expect from raised donuts. The donuts also had an unplasant aftertaste that we all needed to wash out of our mouths with coffee. The savory scone (sconekopita) was surprisingly sweet. The sugar drowned out the other flavors that were the reason we bought the scone (feta, spinach, leek), and the scone did not have the crumbly texture that makes a scone a scone. The texture was more like a cornbread. Finally the curry pastry had potential but it was too spicy for the average Minnesotan palate. Also the texture of the filling was unpleasant and mushy. Would have liked veggies less cooked and more variety of texture. The pastry on the outside was tasty but was hard to appreciate due to the overwhelming spice in the filling. We ended up throwing most of what we bought away, which I don't think I've ever done with...
Read moreI think this could be a great spot once the excitement over new opening dies down. The location is great and easily accessible. Very kid-friendly. The donuts were okay, but nothing special.
My biggest issue was that there was no way of telling what flavors the donuts were. There was no signage and there's nothing on their social media to tell you what they have on deck so you can make decisions beforehand.
We ended up ordering one of each because the cashier couldn't hear us over all the people in the store and as far as we could tell (some were more obvious than others), they were: cinnamon sugar, maple bacon, raspberry with chocolate chips, fruity pebbles, and two vanilla with sprinkles. I was expecting something a little more exciting like what you'd find at Glam Doll or Thirsty Whale (when they were doing donuts), but was pretty disappointed in the options and very disappointed in the inability to find out the options before you wait in line for an hour to get to order.
Overall, I think it has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see what they come up with when they aren't swamped with massive lines. It's a cute neighborhood spot, but if you're looking for quality and variety of donuts, make the trek to Glam...
