On August 19, 2025 I brought my 10 year old daughter in for a haircut. I arrived, waiting to be checked in. There was a manager, and a few employees working. There was an individual checking out, so I stepped aside to let him checkout. During that time I was standing there for awhile, was not greeted or acknowledged at all. No professional or welcoming greeting. No smile, hello, hi, good morning or welcome. I received a, "be right with you" after the older gentleman was checked out. The stylist, short blonde with short blonde hair was extremely rude. She approaches and asks my daughters name. I gave the stylist my name, she spells it incorrectly as she tells me, she can't find my name. So she tells me to spell it. Mind you she doesn't even ask kindly or apologize for not finding my name, after being an over 25+ year customer. I begin to spell my name, the stylist lost patience and is immediately irritated as I'm spelling my name. She tells me to leave. I can't put into words how offensive, unprofessional, disrespectful and disgusting her attitude was. Nothing about her was kind. I asked for a manager and the manger with long dark hair came over and did nothing. I couldnt believe how dismissive the manager attitude was. I asked to leave my information so I could relay my legitimate complaint to the owner. I was reluctantly told to put my number on a paper, I have yet to even have a manager or owner attempt to apologize or resolve this situation. I felt disrespected and embarrassed of their attitudes that were displayed in front of my 10 year old daughter. Who is a witness to this horrible interaction that happened at this location that day. I will never do business with this establishment again and they can never make it right as I felt that me and my daughter were legally discriminated against. Would NOT recommend this place as kid friendly either, being certain employees carry themselves unprofessional at this location. Will be referring my complaint to the BBB as well. Would not recommend this location based on poor customer service. Left this location and took my child to Kids Hair in Minnetonka. Met a great, child friendly and kind stylist I was appreciative of in Minnetonka. Also I've been a 25+ year neighborhood customer, and have never had any problem at this location, except this one specific incident with this particular stylist. Would recommend if your going to hire people to represent your family friendly neighborhood business, perhaps when hiring, please emphasize the importance of customer service. And acknowledging a customer is important. Don't leave them standing there for minutes while your walking around irritated and with no patience. Not a good professional look to model that kind of behavior in front of customers and small children. Again, would not...
Read moreI've been here every few weeks for 3 years. The stylists and hostesses are great. They deserve 5 stars. Cherie, Melissa, Zoe, and Savannah especially. But here's why I would give management and owners zero stars and the biggest lump of coal ever; and why id be prepared for a cluster headache trying to get in:
The place has chronically been understaffed (for 3 continuous years) and the results show up as stress on the employees that are actually there, and on the depressed face of your customers. This place has given me permanent anxiety even thinking about trying to get a haircut. The number of times I tried to do a walk in, or even call ahead and get in line only to be told they couldn't see me for several hours or until the next day is horrifying. It's too numerous to count. Their track record of this is solid for 3 years. They may get better for 2 months but then are back to being horrifying for 8 months.
It's obvious that owners care more about the accounting than giving customers a great experience. The thing is...no matter what they do with the accounting they're destined to fail if they keep giving customer and customer such a painful experience. People can't wait for hours, can't revolve their day around a haircut, and if you force them into a time or day that doesn't work well for them you'll find they leave, don't show, and you lose them as a customer.
Having extra capacity on hand is far better than some of your best customers never being able to get a haircut. And it's better than them having to wait for hours. And it's better than burning out the employees that are actually working. This is true even if someone winds up sitting for some of the day.
And if you're having trouble hiring people, this is the simple reality you have to accept: pay them better. And if splitting the tips with an extra person is a issue: simply pay them better and give them benefits.
I hope they fix this, and start taking care of their employees and customers so that the shroud of depression and anxiety and difficulty is lifted from the place. The employees and customers...
Read moreI went into the salon for a quote on balayage and showed the stylist a picture. She gave me a quote for $208 (my hair is pretty long and thick so I figured it would be a little costly). I told her that I really don't want to spend more than $150 so if we could do something more subtle but still have a similar effect, that would be great. She then gave me a quote for $151 which involved using two different tone foils. She said we would definitely need to do a full foil which is why it would cost that much and that we will get my hair close to what I expected. After spending a few hours in the salon, I left without looking anything like the picture I showed and beyond disappointed with my experience. The stylist was very nice and made me feel comfortable, but left me with nothing that I asked for. For what I wanted, it would have taken a lot less hair dye and a lot less time. (Even without doing the balayage, she could have just used fewer highlights feathered throughout the bottom for a less dramatic of an effect, like I thought she was doing). Now I have a very blonde head of hair and had to go back to the salon to tone down the blonde around my face. Looks nice, but NOTHING that I asked for or was...
