After watching numerous Minnesota United games at other venues (National Soccer Center and TCF Bank Stadium), this was my first time at Allianz Field, to see them host my beloved Everton, from the English Premier League. I've followed Everton since the mid-1980's, but having moved to Minnesota in 2013, this was an entirely unexpected - potentially unique - opportunity I simply could not pass up. I mean, of all the places Everton could have played during this brief tour of the United States (even the very fact they chose to tour here), this seemed almost too good to be true. I suspect Minnesota United being managed by Everton legend Adrian Heath may have had more than a little something to do with it. In any event, I secured tickets (including parking) via SeatGeek - which in itself was a flawless process - and my wife, two daughters and I arrived on a beautiful summer evening for the game, full of excitement and anticipation. First impressions were excellent. It was especially wonderful seeing so many Everton shirts from across the decades being worn, while those for the upcoming season were also available to buy (which we did!). Having been gripped by the incredible end of season rollercoaster Everton just endured to maintain their Premier League status, I am quite familiar with most of the current Everton squad, but more than anything, my wife and I wanted to see our favourite player, Jordan Pickford play in the Everton goal. We were immediately rewarded with a close-up experience before the game as we went near pitch side to watch the goalkeepers warm up. My wife took a sneaky selfie with Jordan Pickford in the background, then I yelled "England's Number One!" (acknowledging his role with the England national team) to which he responded with a subtle thumbs-up in recognition of the tribute. This already made our night. During the game, Jordan Pickford also produced at least one (arguably more) spectacular save and provided yet another of his trademark vocal, passionate performances that we love him for. Truly leading by example, especially in the role of Everton captain. The team showed some individual moments I certainly enjoyed, but were otherwise disjointed and sloppy in their overall performance. I think they came for a friendly exhibition and were naively unprepared that Minnesota United were motivated to take a Premier League scalp. A surprising and somewhat embarrassing - though completely deserved - scoreline followed. More disappointing were a few completely unnecessary moments of poor sportsmanship (likely caused by frustration and genuine embarrassment), but ultimately, I was able to take so many positives from the overall experience, this didn't ruin it for me, only soured it a few degrees. As for the stadium itself (what this review should really be about), it is quite magnificent. Beautifully designed and perfect in function, with so many options for food, beverages, souvenirs and other essential facilities, you are basically spoiled. Even while busy, people flow through this venue without hindrance (including efficient parking, security and ticketing processes), and seating options are superb. I was always gonna be here for this game regardless of any other factors, but following this experience, we definitely intend to return soon. In fact, I am already targeting the visit of LAFC, hoping to see Gareth Bale. Though next time, we'll be cheering for the home team. With such fantastic fans supporting Minnesota United, I cannot...

Allianz Field in Saint Paul is one of the best soccer-specific stadiums in the country, offering a fantastic game-day experience with great accessibility, modern amenities, and a visually stunning design.
Getting There – Public Transit is the Way to Go One of the best aspects of attending a Minnesota United FC match at Allianz Field is how easy it is to get there using public transit. The Green Line light rail stops just a short walk from the stadium, and multiple bus routes make it simple to avoid the hassle of parking. If you’re coming from Minneapolis or other parts of the Twin Cities, taking transit is the most efficient and stress-free way to arrive.
Pre-Game Atmosphere – Green Space and Gathering Spots Outside the stadium, the Great Lawn offers a perfect place to meet up with friends before the match. It’s a well-designed green space that gives fans room to hang out, enjoy some pre-game festivities, or just take in the atmosphere. Whether you’re tailgating in your own way or just soaking in the energy, it’s a great addition to the overall experience.
Inside the Stadium – Modern, Comfortable, and Intimate Once inside, Allianz Field truly shines. The sleek, modern design of the stadium creates an incredible atmosphere, with every seat offering a great view of the pitch. The LED-lit exterior is a unique architectural feature, but the interior is just as impressive. The steep seating bowl keeps fans close to the action, making for an electric home-field advantage.
Food & Drink – A Step Above the Usual Stadium Fare Allianz Field doesn’t disappoint when it comes to concessions. The Brew Hall is a must-visit, offering an excellent beer selection and a great spot to hang out before or after the match. Speaking of beer, if you’re looking for a true Minnesota classic, grab a Grain...

HOWEVER...this was my first time coming to this stadium. I checked the bag policy in advance and chose an appropriate small cross body bag using a tape measure. I packed two pieces of gum, my car keys, phone, 3 travel sized tampons, lip balm, my ID, and two credit cards. The non-clear bag policy is 5x9 and admittedly mine was 5 3/4 x 8 laying flat (if I had stuffed it to the gills, the width could have been 5" due to increasing the depth), but very pliable and nearly empty and would have easily fit into any template or receptacle that was 5x9 had anyone actually asked me to do so.
As we approached the premium entrance with my family (we were there for a company event in the suites), a woman employee screamed at me about my bag, like I was an idiot. She told me that it was far too large (I was standing 10 feet away from her and she did not even measure it), that it needed to be a single compartment (nowhere in the policy on the website do I see that information) and I needed to go take that back to my car. No further discussion or options were offered. She was so loud and mean in front of everyone else in the vicinity, it was so embarrassing. We parked a good distance away, so it was frustrating to have to walk back to the car. When we returned and entered the stadium, I observed so many other women carrying cross body bags (not fanny packs) larger and overstuffed - much larger than the one I had. I understand and support bag policies, but come on. This was way over the top. Many of the clear bags I saw were stuffed to the gills with god knows what. In fact, one I saw had an entire purse inside her clear bag larger than the one I had. Make...
