Extremely disappointing. $50 for 2, 2 meat plates and 2 drinks. When we got the drinks in old school red cups (like Pizza Hut used to have), we went to fill them with fountain sodas. We were the only people eating inside. The Mello Yello was bad. The coke was bad. The Fanta orange was bad. When we asked about it, hoping they would change it, they just said it probably needs the syrup to be changed. However, they didn't change it. That is horrible service when we are paying customers and you know you have to change it and you just leave your customers with no drinks after paying. They offered us a can of mountain Dew. We are not drinking $2 cans of mountain Dew because an employee doesn't want to change the syrup.... I asked for a refund and we just drank tap water. A mess.
The buzzer lit up and moved and we went to pick up our food. It was just left unattended on the counter without anyone speaking to us.. So, even though their machine prompts you to give a tip, they take the order at the computer. They don't remember it or serve you anything. They don't bring you the food. They don't change the drinks. They don't take the trays from you, no checks to be brought, nothing. Cashier wasn't even friendly and spent most of her time on the phone. Slow service from her.
The brisket was big slabs of meat that weren't very soft. My boyfriend's pieces were about half fat that he couldn't eat a lot of it. The wings had NO BBQ flavor. They just tasted like smoke. We barely ate any of them. The fries were just normal, little salt, no seasoning, nothing special. The bread cried for salt. The Cole slaw was super acidic. I ate a bunch of my food because I literally hadn't eaten all day and we drove hours before getting to the Twin Cities. My boyfriend couldn't continue though and bailed out without eating most of his meal.
Not worth the money at all. Don't recommend and would never go back....
Read moreI know you're thinking right like two stars why here's why
First I love the setup the way how the firebox restaurant looks in the inside and out I love the colors I love the bull fire looking theme in an inside that looks very professional the bar looks really nice and it's all like wood it's also close to where the kitchen is so you can see the cooks back there in action
Also I like how they package their food they put the little fire box logo parchment paper in the box that carries your food the staff is also nice and welcoming they're really there to serve you and make sure that you get what you're looking for
But what my problem comes in is what the food me and my partner ordered from their menu the menu is somewhere small which is great which mean they focus on quality more
So I ordered entree with two sides so did my partner I got the 10 lb brisket with coleslaw and fries my partner got rib tips mac and cheese and potato salad
The meat of both the brisket and the tips was tender to perfection the fries were good but not great the coleslaw the mac and cheese the rib tips and the brisket all was bland they all lack flavor but the potato salad was fire
I wouldn't recommend this barbecue place yet I feel like they need to develop their flavor more so I will go back a second time to check them out if you feel like this was useful give...
Read moreI don’t know why people are always complaining about parking. When you go to restaurants on Grand Ave or uptown or dinkytown or Minneapolis, do they have parking?! NOPE! We all need to walk more anyways LOL.
Food Review: Ribs are super tender and fall off the bone. I like how it’s not full of bbq sauce and you can add the bbq sauce if you want it. We love their bbq sauce! Briskets are so delicious! Love how flavorful it is and a good ratio of fat and meat. We also love mama’s sauce (pepper sauce) super delicious and I can just eat the pepper sauce with sticky rice.
Smoked chicken wings are good but can be a little dry for me, so it’s not my favorite.
I’m not a big fan of mac and cheese but my kids love the Mac and cheese. We always get the firebox feast and the 4 sides are all Mac and cheese for the kids.
I think the only con is that it’s a smaller space, so they can’t accommodate a large party. But if you go early and there’s not a lot of people yet, you can push tables together for larger parties. However, I do understand that this is more of a quick grab and go restaurant. Recently I noticed that they have some patio sitting too, so that’s amazing. We do online pickup orders here often as well and they’re always quick and food is always consistent. Definitely the best BBQ...
