Struggling business! I went to this location on lunch break. I work in Minneapolis and this location was close. My co-worker and I was pressing for time. Due to the fact we stopped by the uniform store on university and Snelling we had 30 mins to spare. I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich with the fries included and ordered a slice of lemon cake. Our food was handed to us and we had to remind the server to give us our dessert. There was only two customers in this restaurant which was my co-worker and myself. We left and started driving back to work. I opened the Styrofoam container and noticed a limited amount of fries being not even an handful. Ok no big deal because the fries were decent. When I got to work unwrapped my sandwich. The first thing I noticed was my sandwich was on an hot dog bun!!! What the HECK!!! Who does this? There was no tomatoes no peppers 1 half slice of cheese and 2 handfuls of lettuce. My sandwich was saturated in grease with limited meat! So now I am NOT happy. I can not return this food because I am at work! I get off at 5:30 pm and have plans after. So I called and complained. Instead of an apology I was informed my sandwich was not on a hot dog bun they are a little different. I know the difference between a hot dog bun and a hoagie bun two different things. I would not recommend anyone spending their hard earn money at this location nor money that is not hard earned. If this business can not afford hoagie bread, tomatoes nor peppers then how fresh is the meat and fish? I would not gamble with my...
Read moreAlright alright alright - in my Matthew McConaughey voice! This place does fried fish, chicken, and French fries special! The outside and the inside of this establishment most likely won’t impress you. In fact, based off looks alone you might pass this place over for an esthetically pleasing corporate eatery near by. With that being said I encourage you to disregard those initial urges and venture into this little hole in the wall for an amazing fried food feast! Now if you know anything about fried chicken and or fish, you have to eat it fresh out the frying pans, you can order “to-go”but you’ll lose some of that crunch. Like a good Ol’ fish fry at family BBQ, be patiently waiting for your order and taste it while it’s piping hot! The hot sauce is excellent and the speed of service is consistent (I waited no more than 15 min for catfish fillets, chicken wings, and crispy French fries each time I dined). Again don’t judge this book by its cover, just attempt to eat everything you ordered while it’s steaming out the styrofoam containers. you may want to bring your own drinks (no alcohol, be respectful) and I can only endorse the catfish, wings, and fries because that’s all I order when I make my mandatory stop at JJ’s...
Read moreif I could post negative 10 stars I would. I ordered the cod meal that was supposed to come with fries, cod, coselaw and bread. I asked for no bread only coselaw. I got there to pay for my meal which was 8.99 plus tax. should have been 9.29 but the guy rounded it up to $10. so whatever I paid for my meal and went to my car to notice it had no coselaw only bread. so I went back in and asked them and he told me they dont have coselaw and offerd more tarter sauce or hot sauce! I told them that would have been great to know you have no coselaw seeing that it is on the menu and is supposed to come with the meal. anyways left and ate the meal. which I give about 2 stars for taste. a couple hours go by and I'm throwing up like crazy and just sick to my stomach! mind you I am 8 1/2 months pregnant. so moral of my story I will not be going there EVER again and I will tell everyone else I know not to go. horrible Customer service, horrible food! so unless you feel like you want to get FOOD POISONING I suggest...
