Come with me to one of the prettiest grocery stores in the Twin Cities. Looking at all the beautiful packaging designs is half the fun here, but don’t forget a truffle! #saintpaul #twincities #localbusiness

Loved the atmosphere & decor, very warm & welcoming upon entering. Staff greeted us, asked if we needed help to let them know. I was surprised at the different array of items available! I found glasses with classic Looney Tunes characters next to lovely colored dishware. There were elegant & beautifully designed truffles in a display case next to shelves & displays of a wide range of different types of chocolate offerings. Whatever your taste preference - they can satisfy it! They even had a small grocery area on the other side with some fresh fruits & veggies, frozen items, handmade items such as jams, etc. Not to mention candles, roll on perfume oils, kitchen towels, face masks & so much more - the variety is amazing!! And they deliver. I was actually visiting from out of state & didn't want to risk buying breakables, but found out that wasn't an issue since I can order from home! I highly recommend a stop whether you live in the area or are just passing through. Trust me, it is well worth your time.

I have loved coming here for years! Often like to come here for gifts, ingredients for vinaigrettes, and yummy foods to entertain guests.

Because of covid I figured I would purchase a ton of little gifts for friends for the holidays in lieu of gathering. Wasn’t sure what to purchase yet.

In mid December I visited and was greeted by someone who worked there, but as I shopped, I felt like I was being watched and followed. It felt awkward and weird, especially when I was looking at things I didn’t even want to see (trying to adhere to the 6 ft distancing rule) there was someone nearby. None of the other customers really had any staff person following them.

I felt uncomfortable, tension from the staff person and under pressure. I felt naive for not knowing what I wanted. I felt like I was doing I shouldn’t have been so I wrapped up shopping quickly and purchased some fruits (just to prove I was there to buy something) and left. I didn’t appreciate feeling microaggressed and will likely never return.

EDITED to respond: Hello,

Thank you for your response. Again, I noted I've been coming to Golden Fig for years. This was not my first experience there, and I have had an amazing experience with you as well as others on your team. I know of your great customer service and have to say - this experience was not that. Whether or not you believe/validate this experience, whether you stand by your staff, or whether you do nothing about it, you have lost me as a customer.

I understand the tricky fine line, but as a BIPOC individual, we know when it's microaggression and when its not. Have a great day.

I see where along the same lines of other people who have complained about delivery. That might be your queue to check out different deliveries…I’ve got news for you, Nora using ā€œdon’t you know we're a small businessā€ is not a solution and is a good argument to go someplace else. Also, it was very humorous of you to tell us that our lavender pepper decided to go to Florida before Minnesota because it needed some sun. It’s always good to have a back up career should the small business thing not work out. Lastly, the scathing email you sent to my husband is the reason I decided to share our bad experience, if not for that I would have kept this substandard customer service experience to myself.

2nd Unhinged? Verbal abuse? Your employee Nora spoke over me the entire time. Is that how you train your employees to handle disgruntled customers? Seems so. Either way, keep your product. There are other stores that can deliver to the greater Wayzata region without incident. We were not looking for a free product, lol. You have a lot of nerve, you will not be receiving an apology from your customer and your customer had no intention of ever ordering from you again. Do you think I would be on this forum if I wanted to order from you again? Clearly, we have different opinions as to what constitutes verbal abuse, & clearly you did not hear we did not want to order from you again. Maybe it was because Nora was talking over me instead of listening. Also, my husband is a nice guy, but it does beg the question, why do you think he brought me into...
