I've been looking forward to this place opening up, and they didn't let me down. The closed at 9, I ordered at 8:15 , and they told me it would be 15-20 minutes for the order, and they were dead on. More importantly, nothing tasted like it was made earlier in the day, it was all fresh. I ordered my old standby, Thai Spring Rolls, Shrimp Tom Yum and Chicken Pad Thai. I call it my old stand by because this is always my first order by which I judge whenever I try a new Thai restaurant. I figure that if they take the time to excel at these fairly common items , they will really shine with the more adventurous choices. The spring rolls had big chunks of beautiful shrimp and the peanut sauce was perfect. I got medium heat on the Tom Yum, and it was just hot enough to make me tear up, but not so hot to cover the flavor. There were copious amounts of plump mushrooms floating in a broth with Thai peppers and bright pink shrimp. The Chicken Pad Thai was medium spice as well. At first I thought the spice was a little weak, but the more bites, the more I realized how wrong I was. And the amount of perfectly moist, succulent chicken, they must have put an entire bird in there. The sauce caressed the chicken and noodles, the flavors swimming together in such beautiful harmony, no one flavor overwhelming the others. I had to make myself save some of the food for tomorrow, but I wanted it all tonight. Price wise, it was $36 before tax, and if I had any will power, I could have easily gotten 3 meals out of it. They are only a couple blocks away from me, walking distance, but I would happily drive across town to eat there again. I am looking forward to exploring more...
Read moreThis restaurant was my favorite restaurant until yesterday. So they mixed up my order. I ordered Thai spring fresh roll but they gave me egg rolls. I didn’t notice that until 2 hours later after my meeting. So I called them and explained but all they did is trying to blaming me cuz they heard egg rolls. And they asked me to bring back the egg rolls but didn’t say they will do refund or give the right order to me. The lady was being very rude to me . And they never apologize to me. And they just chose to ignore me and hope I will just let it go. I went there every week but now I am not going there anymore cuz I am afraid that they are gonna resell the return food. I am very disappointed.
And I did not eat them. I took a bite of one of them and then I realized it was not what I ordered!!!! I still have the rest of them! See that is how you guys treat the customers, tried to blame me why did I take a bite? They are totally only 2 and I just took a bite of one of them! I also ordered the fried rice, if I want a free food I would not to fake on the appetite! And I purchased there many times ! This is the first time I got my wrong order! Now I know why your employees were rude to me, cuz you trained them to assume every return is a fraud. Haha yeah for like few dollars! It’s not the food made me mad it’s your guys attitude! Anyway all my co workers and I and my family will not go there anymore. And I will keep sharping my experience to...
Read moreThis unassuming little Thai joint will blow your lid with how good the food is! Seriously, do not sleep on this place. I'll be honest, the inside is nothing to write home about, pretty standard restaurant - although every interaction I've had with an employee there has been pleasant. But do we really care how nice the interior is? It's a FOOD place that we go to for FOOD, so the FOOD should be what we rate it on...and you guys, it's amazing. We've tried every other Thai place in St. Paul, and nothing is even a close second. My go-to is the Pad Thai w/chicken (spicy) and my wife's staple is the Pad See Yew w/chicken (no spice). It may seem like a tad on the expensive side for Thai, but each entrée is easily two meals for everyone that's not Dwayne Johnson, so we're really talking like $8 a meal. I'll leave you with my final praise, which is the consistency. Every other Thai place we do enjoy is terribly inconsistent with end product, and out of the 50+ times we've ordered Coconut Thai, maybe twice has it been slightly prepared differently (still good AF though). Do yourself a favor and toss in an order next time you're craving a dish like this, or trying to impress someone with how sophisticated your food palate is, you won't be...
