We started taking our dog to their facility for socialization and play. We really were liking the facility until last Wednesday. When I picked up our dog the guy said we need to talk with you about your dog, she played really hard and got scraped up but she is ok. The other employee brought her out and said “I was able to stop the blood from the bites”. What? Played hard and was scratch is different than bit. They then proceed to tell me she was bit several times by another dog but she did not do anything. I asked what happens next and they said they were marking the other dogs file? Not getting rid of the other dog, first problem. Second problem is that it happened an hour before I got there and no one contacted us. I receive pictures throughout day saying she is playing and do I want to purchase a special snack, but nothing when my dog is attacked. I immediately took her to the vet as one of the punctures was deep. Thankfully no stitches, antibiotics and pain medicine as there was several bites. Next day my wife went and watched video, too many dogs in the room for one, these are big dogs. Someone walked in and the dogs headed to door and another dog just ran up and bit her. She ran off and the other dog followed and attacked again.
When we presented the bill to facility they said now they would get rid of other dog because medical bill was involved? They said a manager would call us, been five days no call. I called today to say we would not be back, they could care less, still no manager call. I would consider this instance before taking your pet there. Really had thought we had found a great place for our dog to go play, not what it pretends to be.
Update: Two weeks have gone by, no contact from manager. No reimbursement for medical/vet bill. My dogs face has a permanent scare on her left side. No way to run a business.
Last Update: They paid the vet bill. No contact from management, not the way I conduct...
Read moreWe had a our 2 year-old, 7 pound female chihuahua there for a couple of months. I should have trusted my gut the day we took her for her trial because I didn't feel good about it. I thought it was just me being an overprotective, new dog mom.
There are too many dogs to one playroom, and the staff rarely interacts with the dogs because, quite frankly, there are too many to one trainer.
We had two separate issues with mounting (two different male dogs on two different days) but the same trainer was in the room both times and it appeared to me that she ignored it because she just didn't want to deal with it. She was also on her phone most of the day. I expressed my concern this first time and the manager, Hannah, apologized, reassured me that it was not their standard of care, and that they were going to retrain the staff. At the time, this made me feel better.
A week or two later, it happened again. A different dog, but the same trainer. Our chi was supposed to be there the entire day, but I went and picked her up immediately. I got the same song and dance from Hannah, and I canceled our contract. I've reached out to Corporate three times but have not heard back.
If you are looking for a place, I highly recommend Yuppy Puppy - Cottleville. She now goes to social day camp once or twice a week and their crew is absolutely fantastic with our girl. Everone gushes at her when I drop her off and they are sad when she has to leave. They love to be active with her and encourage her curiosity and play. She comes home tired and happy, and that makes...
Read moreMy puppy had been going there since April of last year and the past few months they have gotten a lot of new employees and things weren’t the same. My puppy was still very excited to go. Till one day they told me she was being put in a crate every time someone or a dog came in or out of the door. Cause they said she was trying to leave the room. She was just greeting just like all the other dogs. They all ran to the door. She does not go near the doors at home and try to run out! They have videos you can watch. And was told she was aggressive towards a couple dogs. No not aggressive but playing hard just like lots of others dogs. So with her being put in a crate probably 30-40 times a day she as now looking at the crate as a negative place. Which she has never had a problem with her crates. Now she did not want to go in her crate at night at all. She was always eager to go in it. We stopped taking her there because she wasn’t being treated right. And I am still retraining her to trust her crate at night time. They broke my sweet puppy that everyone loved. Sad part is she looked forward to her play day each week. And now she doesn’t get her play day with other dogs. I’m very sad for her for that cause she loved...
