If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that feels like a warm hug on a lazy morning, this is it. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is so well-lit and inviting, you’ll wonder if they’ve secretly harnessed the power of the sun itself. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at ease, whether you’re rolling out of bed or showing up polished and ready to conquer the day.
The service staff? Absolute gems. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely cheerful—they make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. Sure, the prices lean toward the “treat yourself” end of the spectrum, but let’s be honest: the upscale diner vibe totally justifies it. You’re not just paying for food; you’re paying for the experience. And what an experience it is.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the South of the Border omelette. This thing is a masterpiece. Packed with flavor and perfectly cooked, it’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite to appreciate the culinary artistry. And the fruit on the side? None of that sad, mushy stuff. We’re talking fresh, vibrant strawberries, bananas, and blueberries that actually taste like they were picked recently, not last season.
Portions here are generous but not excessive—Goldilocks would approve. You’ll leave full but not in a “I need to unbutton my pants” kind of way. And let’s not forget the pancakes. Fluffy, golden, and served with warmed syrup (a detail that deserves its own round of applause), they’re the kind of pancakes that make you question every other pancake you’ve ever eaten.
My friend and I left already planning our next visit. This isn’t just a breakfast spot; it’s a destination. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by. Your taste buds (and your Instagram feed)...
Read moreMy family had been excited to try this place as we were looking forward to another breakfast place in the area. We love First Watch and the Shack. We went on a Saturday which was busy, but we got right in without having to wait for a table. Pros: loved the atmosphere and decor, restaurant is a decent size with plenty of tables, staff were friendly, prices seemed reasonable, and menu was appealing with plenty of options. However the cons will keep us from coming back. Cons: Overall the food was bland, mediocre, and not worth the money. Nothing to get excited about. We ordered a french toast combo, kids mini chocolate chip pancakes, and a pancake combo with their signature cinnamon apple glaze added on, a side of hash browns, chocolate milk and orange juice between the family. Visually the food looked great but tasted cheap. The scrambled eggs and sausage links were nothing special. The bacon was horrible! It was the thinnest, tiniest, sad-excuse for bacon I had ever experienced. It also lacked flavor. The hash browns were not bad. Pancakes were fluffy but again nothing special and in my option tasted bland even with the topping added on. My husband did not seem impressed and said the French toast was pretty basic. I would not order the orange juice or the chocolate milk again. Overall, we left the place feeling very underwhelmed by the food, which is disappointing because we were hoping it would be a place we would want to...
Read moreAwesome little place. The first time we went. A little crowded, which did impact the service a bit, but they were running around with several big tables. So this is understandable.
I tried Pecan Pancakes for the first time, and they were awesome.
I'm glad we found the place, and despite living in Wentzville, we'll definitely be back.
Highly recommend.
Thank you
Back again for Mother's Day, as we have several times since this first review. Still, it's just as great as ever.
Getting the 2 eggs with Bacon, Hash Browns, and pancakes. Always taking half of it home since it's more than any of us can eat at one sitting.
Annnnddd we're back again. Actually, we've been back many times since Mother's Day.
This time, I opted for fresh fruit instead of hash browms. I've been on a more protein based diet lately since losing 40 lbs. over the last year. I've been staying away from as many carbs as I can. I have no idea what fruit is considered, but I like fresh fruit, and it does add fiber, so there you go.
Food was great as always, and the service was as well. Seems to be getting more crowded as times have been going. By the time we left today, they had 3 or 4 groups of people waiting for a seat. We got one of the last couple tables when we arrived at 0900.
Guess the word has gotten out about how great this place is. And I'm not helping keeping it a secret with...
