Gaiety Hollow — Attraction in Salem

This is the loveliest place you've never heard of. Most definitely worth the drive from Portland. This is the personal gardens and home of landscape architects Lord & Schryver. The gardens are slowly and carefully being curated and restored to their original glory. Although the garden is a work in progress, it's beautiful to see anytime. For a nominal fee you can see the ground floor of their lovely but modest home. There are framed garden plans drawn by the designers themselves. They are really works of art and very interesting to see. There is a short talk that was very informative and well done. You get a piece of Oregon history that many haven't heard!
