I purchased a David Austin Rose from this nursery last month. When it bloomed it was clear that it was mislabeled. I messaged Lake Street and they took no credit for the mistake. They blamed it on customers switching tags (the pot was labeled twice with the variety as well as a tag on the root stock itself). They initially offered me only a credit if I dug the plant up and returned it if I "didn't like it". I called and spoke with their office manager who finally agreed to issue me a refund, blaming their vendor on the mislabel but still taking no responsibility for it at all. I still was required to dig up the plant and bring it back to them. I kindly explained that we are 45 min away, I specifically went to this nursery to look for david austin roses in different varieties, and since they didn't have any more in stock it is unacceptable to make me return with this. They offered no other resolution and quite smugly told me to have a nice day.
Very disappointed that a nursery would not own a mistake like this and put their customer at such an inconvenience. It's not that it happened, its how they handled it. I like visiting and purchasing from nurseries because I generally feel that they take greater care in the health and variety of their plants and will look out for their customers. Sadly I did not find this to be the case with Lake Street. I will not...
Read moreLived in salem nh off bridge street for 30 years. Wife grew up in salem over fiftty years. Owned a home in salem for 30 years. Lake street Garden has been go to and most all landscape trees and plants came from Lake Street. Spent $500 earlier this year and just another $450 last week. Bought about 14 plants and redbud tree. Watered them morning and evening every day. Two $14 1gal flowering planrs started to die by day two. All others doing well. By end of week before we could plant them they were severly wilted/dead. My wife put ghem in car to return them at end of work day. The staff and mngr on duty at Lake street made her feel like she was trying ti pull fast one, and accussed her of not watering them. No plants returned over past thirty years and thousand of dollars spent there, and they tried to make her feel like cheating trash for two $14.00 plants. They are highest priced in the area and RUDE! Wont spend another dime there. SpringHill in Haverhill is my...
Read moreThis was my second time visiting this location, and I was even happier this time! I brought a house plant from home with me that I had some questions about. Nicole approached me as I was shopping and asked if I needed any help, and I had a few questions for her. She was AMAZING! I am new to the plant world, so I had some general questions. She went above and beyond to educate me on the do’s and don’t’ with the concerns I had. Not only that, she took the plant I had brought with me, and put a moss pole in it to help it climb! Told me to email her pictures of a plant I have at home that I am concerned about! That is top notch customer service right there. I live 24 miles away and this is my new go to spot. I absolutely love this place. Staff is so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Selection is HUGE, and prices are great. If you haven’t been here, you need to check it out! Ask for Nicole, she is the BEST!! I added a picture of the plant she...
