PCMax Computers — Attraction in Salem

Our house experienced a power outage recently due to a fallen tree. When the power came back on my 15-year old desktop computer would not boot up. Based on PCMax's past reviews, I called the shop. Kevin said bring it in for a free diagnostic. He quickly traced the problem to an internally damaged motherboard, but also found the system's hard drive to be 100% OK, even after 15 years service. He explained a new computer would be more cost-effective than replacing the ancient motherboard, as I need more memory and a Windows upgrade as well. As a Quality Manager at an electronics company, I understood exactly what Kevin was talking about. His analysis was spot on. He mirrored my hard drive, doubled my memory, and brought the Windows system files all the way up from Windows 7 to Windows 11, and all that in 24 hours. The new computer is now back home, up and running, faster than ever with all folders and file exactly where they should be. I am super impressed and recommend...

A virus “hijacked” my old laptop and rendered it inoperable. I called PC Max (Kevin) and he immediately knew what the virus was and gave me confidence that he could remove it from my laptop. He suggested I bring it right in that morning and he would have it back to me in the afternoon. Upon my visit, he explained in detail what he was going to do. He offered to install an MS Virus tool on the laptop as well. And, while I was there, I had him install a new fan in the laptop that was making a squealing noise. You could tell that he was a very experienced computer repair person. His fee was quite reasonable, he gave new life to my laptop … and I won’t hesitate using him again should the need arise. ...

The man in the store was extremely kind and respectful. The prices are EXTREMELY fair!!! I build computers for friends and I had a laptop that I wanted to upgrade the storage. He was able to get it done for me because I didn’t have a motherboard with two m.2 slots to clone the drive. He got it done in a day and for $80. Super fair price as the places around would charge $89 just for looking at the laptop. I highly recommend this place for your computer problems and I will be buying my future parts from this store as I want to support a family...
