Service: 5 star Food: 4.5 star Freshness & quality: 5 star
I was looking for something to eat, after visiting the mall at Rockingham, and came across this sweet spot, and I was not disappointed.
Ordered: chicken Tikka Masala, Mango Lassi, Shrimp Pakora, Garlic Naan,
Shrimp Pakora: This was the highlight for me, not only was it so fresh and tasty, but the batter that it was dunked in before frying was perfect, with the right amount of crunch (outside) and juiciness (inside) even the shrimp was so so fresh and full of flavor... The mint chutney came as a bonus it added a lot to the complexity of the flavors. I will talk about this dish for a very long time!
Chicken Tikka Masala: The dish comes on a little candle to keep it hot, oh! And talking about hotness, my friend ordered it between mild and medium, and even with tears in her eyes she still continued eating it... It was one of the most joyous, yet painfully ironic moments in my life! I saw sheer commitment! The tears of joy didn't dry out, till the plate was wiped clean. My opinion on the dish: it was authentic, very fresh, including the chicken, high quality ingredients, full of flavor, filling... But I personally wouldn't order it again, mainly because it was too heavy, and the flavors resembled my mom's food too much.
Garlic Naan: My only problem here is that I had better Naan! and that spoiled me. not that their Naan was not fresh, or that it lacked in flavor, the opposite it was really yummy, and I'll probably order it again next time, but it wasn't world class when it comes to the crunch! I'm just stating my honest opinion, I'm not complaining...
Mango Lassi: It was really fresh, and I thought that the mango gave it a really good balance.
All in all, for me, it's worth a detour for the shrimp pakora! And what I liked the most about this place was how fresh everything was! I know they could of cheated here and there, it's Salem, new Hampshire for crying out loud, it's not like a metropolis, or a food destination. But they still kept true to their colors, and for that they deserve a five star.
they have a buffet on weekends, Fri-sat-sun from 11:30 -...
Read moreIf I could use one word to describe my experience here it would be WOW! Years ago I had tried Kashmir and it wasn't something I thought was for me. Here we are in 2019 and I just said you know what... Let's go for it one more time. Boy was that a great decision! My fiance and I got the chicken vindaloo, the basil coconut chicken, and the chicken saag. It came with a side of very fragrant Basmati rice. We started out with the cheese pakora that happened to come with some vegetable pakora, vegetable samosas, the chicken soup and the coconut soup. Yes you read that right 😁. So where do I start?! Ok so the vegetable samosas were up first. Super crispy outside with a delicate crust and the inside was exploding with flavor! It was filled with curried potatoes and peas. They came with a side of mint sauce that just burst with such fresh flavors! Next up was the cheese and vegetable pakora. The cheese pakora was stuffed with spinach and was great BUT the vegetable pakora took the cake with it's flavor. Absolutely the best appetizer of the 3 we got. Crispy outside with just the greatest onion taste on the inside. I devoured it so fast I couldn't see what else was in it. Next time😉. The soups came out next. The chicken soup was chock full of tiny pieces of tandoori chicken and a nice peppery broth. Surprisingly though that coconut soup blew us away. I mean OMG was it AMAZING!!!! A flavorful light Coconut broth with a great amount of shredded coconut. Truly simple, but elegant. Now the main entrees the basil coconut chicken....wow.... Just WOW! That was our number one favorite dish of the night. Shredded coconut, and tons of shredded basil in a thick sauce. We could not stop eating it. The chicken vindaloo had the right amount of heat to it and was truly a delight. Finally the chicken saag was super creamy and rich, but in that "yes please more!" kind of way. O I forgot to mention they served a hot onion chutney to our table and my goodness we needed to take it with us lol. That was truly the best chutney I ever had! So will we come here again...
Read moreJust had Dinner in Kashmir Indian restaurant Salem NH.
We had previous good experiences so we chose to have dinner today as well.
We had ordered lamb curry , Chiken curry and “ Paneer tikka Masala “
And I Highly Disappointed with Panner tikka masala … it was all tomato tangy sour curry…. No where close to paneer tikka masala … so we called server and convey concerns and we Ordered spicy version of “Paneer kadai masala “ so this was supposed to be different Dish and Diff gravy preparation as server explained.
And d Funny part he Got the same Paneer gravy just he made it sure to “it’ll be spicy”….
So again we called him… n tell him we have recognized this is the same gravy u brought and made it just spicy .. So he said okay I’ll CANCEL this paneer order.
So that means we should not get the bill for the same… BUT HE GET THE PAYMENT MACHINE AND WITHOUT LETTING US KNEW HE JUST SWIPED OUR CARD … and we end up paying 17$ extra for that cancelled panner gravy .
I MEAN SERIOUSLY, have some courtesy to accept your fault and act like one.
HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL MOT RECOMMEND ANYONE .
I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM ZERO for SERVICE AND GOOD. 😊
And my son had stomach issues( I cn imagine cnt write that word ) just after 15 min later we left from Restaurant.
